Toyota pays if you are still under warranty, you pay if not. If you aren't under warranty then ANY of the other solutions will be better and cheaper than the TSB springs.

The Bilstein 4600's are magic. The ride in the back of the truck is now better than stock. With the TSB springs and the Bilsteins only on the rear the jumpiness is totally gone, the ride over irregular pavement is better than stock and bumps affect the stock front end more than the stiffer rear. I am sold on Bilstein single piston gas charged shocks and will put them on the front after the winter and on all my future trucks.

On that note many report here that the Bilstein 4600 are the same blue and yellow shocks that come on the TRD's and you should go up to 5100 to get an improvement. I disagree that they are the same shocks. There are a few TRDs in the lot at work and I peaked under. The blue and yellow shocks under these trucks are different than my 4600s. In particular the diameter of the shock tube is thinner. They are not 4600s. In addition you can order TRD rear shocks from Toyota for 32 dollars apiece, just 2 dollars more than stock shocks, when rear 4600s cost 80. Methinks Toyota got Bilstein to paint some cheap shocks yellow and blue so that they can make you think you are getting something cool for your TRD dollars.

Find a new dealership. Print out the two TSB's and drop them on the service managers desk. The spring TSB has the model code for the standard cab, at least my model. There are twenty model codes listed on the TSB, check your VIN number against them. And the fan TSB just says Tacoma 2006-2011.

My dealer just punches the VIN number in his computer and all the applicable TSBs pop up.

i know they are just ass hats lol

i had gone in last week to have the service manager order the tsb parts for my truck to get the fan straightened out.

i'm lifted now so i don't think they are going to cover my adda leaf although i wish they would i only have an adda leaf in there now as part of my procomp kit.

    petezny,

Thanks for the 4600 report. I agree with you about Toyota using something less than the 4600s on the TRDs. I suspect that as you stated, the TRD today is a standard truck with decals and a locking rear differential.
