BF Goodrich all terrains for my tacoma?

Hi guys I just recently got my tacoma and I'm new to the forums. So last weekend I found out the hard way that the tires on my truck are not gunna cut it for offroad at all. And like an idiot I didn't let any pressure out of the tires even though it was deep sand.

My truck doesn't have 4x4 but it does have trd with the diff locker. I was told by my offroading buddies that I need to get a set of BF goodrich all terrains on there and let all the pressure out, and as long as i keep speed up I will glide over the sand fine.

The problem is it doesn't seem like they make the tire in the proper size for my wheel. So what should I do? look at another tire or can I use bigger BF Goodrich all terrains? The truck is stock ride height so I don't know if it would be a problem or not.

 

31x10.5-15's should work for your truck.

Run about 12 psi and keep the speed up, you'll be fine. Just don't get stuck though, 2wd's don't do well in sand at low speed.

 

is your tire size 265/70/16?

oh. cause i was going to say that with stock suspension you could go up to 75's from 70's... at least that's what I've heard

with some trimming he could fit 32x11.5-15 BFG A/T's, but the stock size is 31x10.5-15

 

they have em in your size. if your on a 16 get the stock 265/70/16 BF Goodrich T/A KO tires. and yes there is a thread about the correct tire pressure for sand.

if your on a 15" wheel get some 31x10.5x15 tires. There are other tire brands out there that are just as good as BFG's. for example Toyo AT's, Goodyear Duratracs, Hankook ATM's, or Nitto Terra Grapplers. good luck with your tire search.

 

Oh and hey a tip is when you post pics of your truck, you may wanna cross out your license plate.

Yeah I don't really care either, hundreds of people see my license plate when I go to work everyday lol. I found a better pic of the tire anyways so you guys can see what kind of tires are on there now.

 

yup those are 31x10.5-15's for sure. (should say this right on the sidewall).

BFG makes the exact same size for the all terrains. I posted a link to them earlier.

yes.

Go look at your sidewalls for yourself. The tires on there right now are likely the same size, and don't rub.

32's would rub though, make sure and get the 31's if you don't want issues.

will not rub for you as you have 6 lug suspension............just put 31x10.5x15inch on my truck on old 4runner rims...pic below

 

You can run 31X10.50 15s on your truck. I had the same set up and I ran the 31X10.50 15 BFGoodrich a/t. on mine. You will be fine..

 

your rims may be 16 inch....if so.... go with the size quoated above for 16in....both tires exact same height...30.7 inches
