How to deck plate mode?

    so i searched and couldnt find how to do the deck plate mod on a first gen (99). anybody have the url on how to do it?

    haha sorry i really dont want to read threw the whole deck plate mod thread... sorry kinda lazy and eyes hurt.... but what about driving in rainy or snowy weather? does water get into the air box and past the filter getting into the engine?

    That's why it's called the "Deck Plate" mod. If you get worried about water getting in, simply screw in the deck plate and you're covered.

    Only if its submerged will water get in the engine. Spray wont get in any more than a CAI, which doesnt hurt anything.

    Bilstein 5100's on all four corners. Front set @ 0 with OME 883x coils. Alcon leaf springs. Viper Alarm. Wet Okole seat covers. WeatherTech Floor liners front and back. Oem Toyota chrome exhaust tip. ARE Shell. America Outlaw Wheels.
    Iam running the airaid intake tube with the AFE prodry drop in filter.My question is Am I getting the same gains in HP & MPG as I would get if I did the deck plate mod?

    Probably, possibly even slightly better. The idea is that the DPM gives gains of a CAI without the cost, and it allows you to close off the box if you plan on going through a swamp.

    Just curious when it says add a "bead" of silicone to the deck plate does that mean one drop at some point on it or a line of it around the whole thing?
