I used to build Shuttle PC's which were small enough to tear apart and put them into a glove box. Now with Tablets, it's just useless to put a PC in a car.

Mine arrived this morning at 8am... the 1 day shipping was exactly that. Plugged it in and paired with my Samsung SkyRocket easily. It works extremely well. I will definately begin fab for a custom mount for an android tablet in radio hole, or possibly partial dash replacement with a 7" unit.

I just tried this out on my 09 V6 Auto - it's the same sensor reading as what Torque defines as the engine coolant temp. Go fig.

Interesting, I'll never paid attention to see if my coolant temp was the same as tranny temp. I'll check it out today and find out.

Scored my Elm v1.5 bluetooth deal today off ebay from a US seller. Was 5.00 more and 3 weeks sooner on actually getting it vs. all the hong kong sellers. When it arrives I'll go grab up the app for the casio commando and call it good..........Big thanks to OP for this thread.

For iOS guys wanting to use the $20 EMC327 Bluetooth OBDII adapter, you can if you jailbreak.

roqyOBD is an addon (free) to roqyBT4 app. It adds support for any bluetooth OBD key for your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. Watch live informations from your car !!

That plus Rev ($39.99 or Rev Lite for Free) from the app store.

I don't have an EMC327 yet, but plan to order mine soon.

Didn't seem to work for me, but I only gave it one shot.

For Equation i had to enter it in like this ((A*256)+B)-65136 for it to accept it, but it seemed to not like the OBD2 PID 21D9 being set that way more than anything. I didn't try much further than that, wanted to get food.

Is all this off the scan gauge or is this how you plugged it into Torque?

Yeah, I got rejected at first, so I nixed the initial multiplication sign and it took it. Started it up and saw that the value was about -64500, so then I went back and nixed the negative constant subtraction off the end. Value fluctuated wildly while I was on surface streets, but flattened out once I hit cruising speed on the interstate. Value fluxed between 300 and 500 in low gears, and between that and 1200 on the highway, with steady state being about 750. Seems on the high side to me. I suspect we need to tweak the calculation a bit more. But good progress, nonetheless. Thanks for all the work so far, ruggedT!

Scanguage has the numbers listed on their site, there's a post on the 2nd page about converting scanguage values into PID's usable by Torq.
    http://www.scangauge.com/support/toyota-specific/

Ill mess with it more when I have some free time. Also not sure how I got that multiplier at the beginning... shouldn't be there. Wish I had somthing that I know reads the trans temp to compare temps with

No kidding, that would be nice to be able to verify.

I just took a look at the link you sent for the data, and I get something very close to your original:
    ((A*256)+B)*10*(7/100)-398

I'm stuck in meetings for the next hour or so, but I'll head out to the parking lot at lunch and try it out. Hopefully the values make more sense with the smaller constant on the end.

Hmm. The *10* should be a zero I thought. There was a zero in the RXF field
