Lift questions

I have a 2010 Tacoma Access cab. Have AAL in rear and want to put on my 5100s and spyder trax spacers w stock wheels to run 285/70/17s. I should be able to set the 5100s to 1.75 and get my front end re aligned. My only questions are:

Does it matter if I get the front end re aligned with the stock tires or should I put the new ones on first.

What adjustments are there for the front end. I only saw LCA eccentric bolts? Is there any thing else that can be adjusted and what settings get affected with the lift. Toe in/out should not be changed right? Just camber/caster?

Well any time you mess with your frontend suspension you need an alignment.

Toe should be 0
camber 0
caster should be 1.5 to 2.5 higher the better

Your stock tires will be fine

 

Also could this have any affect on my speedometer? Do I need to re calibrate or just use my gps? I normal jump the train trax at 45-48 mph under slight acceleration for a good jump. Will be interesting to see how this affects it. I may need more acceleration force or speed?

 

Tires will affect the speedometer. But you shouldn't need to going with 285s.

Did you check the tire size calculator? That will tell you the speed difference.

How does the caster get adjusted on these trucks?

 

not to thread jack but i thought you set the alignment specs to factory after a lift???

 

Found my answer:

they both can be adjusted to do either camber/caster

for instance, bring both in and gain + camber, both out and lose camber; bring rear in gain caster. you could also move the front out vs moving rear in and gain the same effect on caster, plus by moving only one out it also effects the camber a tad as well.


Do you guys recommend I weld these eccentric bolt tabs to make them stronger before I take it to get the alignment?
