Currently at about $3.34. I read an article today that said by summer it was going to be over $4.00. Glad I traded the 5.7L Tundra.

$2.99 for regular. Should be a lot lower, but US oil companies have become net exporters of gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, and have been doing so since 2008.

It's the oil speculators that are going to screw us, there will still be plenty of actual oil, it will just skyrocket in price.

The reasons: strife with Iran, rising demand in China, India and other developing countries, plus concerns over limited oil supplies, energy experts say.

Exactly , the Strait of Hormuz bs is just their latest excuse for jacking the prices

I paid $2.61/ gallon yesterday... in Mexico!

Once in California, USA the price was a dollar a gallon higher... and 10% weaker (ethynol)!

The sanctions against Iran are collapsing their currencey, to them it's economic warfare, similar to the oil embago that forced the Japanese's hand prior to WWII, problems in the Strait are not things anyone, not least of all the House of Saud, wants to see. The Mullahs in Iran just might be crazy enough to pull the trigger, even if they don't, dissent from within may very well tear the country apart. If they do, Obama will be justified in a hot shooting war, no one in the international community will argue with him. The minute the first bullets fly over the Strait, the price of oil will shoot up to 800-1000 a barrel and no government anywhere wants to see their people, their voters, that pissed off.

Our military from Iraq? Yep, and Obama is announcing BIG defense (sorry OZ, defence), cuts, he needs another war like right now and a messy ground war with Iran and Syria would do nicely. There's a lot of unemployed military folks and no end in sight. FDR needed Pearl Harbor, Bush needed 9-11 and Obama needs Iran.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The oil industry's top lobbyist warned the Obama administration Wednesday to approve the Keystone XL oil pipeline or face "huge political consequences" in an election year.
Jack Gerard, president of the American Petroleum Institute, said it would be a "huge mistake" for President Barack Obama to reject the 1,700-mile, Canada-to-Texas pipeline. Obama faces a Feb. 21 deadline to decide whether the $7 billion pipeline is in the national interest.
"Clearly, the Keystone XL pipeline is in the national interest," Gerard said at the trade association's annual "State of American Energy" event. "A determination to decide anything less than that I believe will have huge political consequences."
Gerard said the oil group has teamed up with at least 15 unions to support the pipeline, which would create thousands of jobs.

I knoow this isn't a political thread, but Obama is worried if he lets the pipeline go through then all the tree hugging, green peace folks will turn against him and not vote for him.
