Ok do here's the deal. My 06 sport I put on 5100's set at 2.5" with 2" aal. The ride was stiff but not too bad. My 2010 I had the toytec ULK with 2" aal. Ride was ok but wasn't feeling the 3" lift it gave for some odd reason. Well never the less I got my new 2012 I'd like to lift. I'd like to keep it at a max 2.5" or lower cause I don't want to buy UCAs yet. I do want a rake since I do tow. I have the 4 leaf pack on my 2012 sport. I dont really off road but if i did it would be light off roading. Long story short, after reading many posts these are the options I'm looking at. Which would u think work best for what I'm looking for. Budget isn't sky high :)

Option 1: 5100's set at 2.5" again with 1.5" aal

Option 2: 5100's set at 0", eibach springs, 1.5" aal

Option 3: 5100's set at .85, eibach springs, 1.5" aal

    Option 4: 5100's set at 0", 885 coils, 1.5" aal (can I use 885s with 5100s?)

I'm assuming an 1.5" aal will work with all these and give a slight rake right? Lol thanks guys. :)

1, 2, and 4 (4 is what I'm doing) are good choices but still probably need UCAs. Don't do #3, I've heard bad stuff about preloading with eibachs and OME coils with 5100s, keep them at "0"

I voted option 2 since you'd still get to keep the rake for towing. I hear people say no to opt 4 to use the nitro shocks from OME but I have no experience with it.

Options 1, 3 and 4 would most likely require a new UCA for alignment purposes.

Option 2 will give you a factory rake.

You can use 885's with 5100's although the manufacturers recommend keeping OME coils with OME shocks and Eibach coils with Bilstein shocks. There are plenty of people running OME coils on 5100's without issue. I voted for option 4 based on your criteria (even though I've got option 2 because I wanted to keep my rake for towing). FWIW, it's the 886 coils that shouldn't be used with 5100's.

What sort of bad stuff have you heard about preloading Eibach coils?? Toytec themselves even sells Eibach coils preloaded to .85. No harm in using Eibachs on 5100's at the .85 setting. Bad things can happen when preloading higher than .85. You're correct about OME though, they shouldn't be preloaded since they are a taller coil.

So I'm guessing if I do the 5100s set at .85" with the eibachs I'd be looking at what? Bout 2" maybe 2.25" in front? Is that correct. That's about the height I'd like. But would that set up be any more smoother then just the 5100s at 2.5"?

2.45" with 5100's set at .85 and Eibach coils. Can't speak to smoothness but I'd imagine the ride would be better vs. preloading the crap out of stock coils. If you want 2" - 2.25", have you considered using the OME 884 coils or Eibachs and 1/4" top plate on the passenger side and 1/2" top plate on the driver's side?

I think ome 885's paired with 5100's set at zero will give you 2.5" (if you don't use spacers). That's what I hoping anyway because this is the setup I'm going to install tomorrow, along with a 1.5" aal. Hopefully I'll get a good alignment and no vibes.

Well I know when I had just the billies at 2.5" on my 06 the alignment was slightly off but didn't notice any vibes. When I had the ULK on the 2010 at 3" I did have the LR UCAS but wasn't crazy bout the ride. I did have vibes and My cv angles didn't look too pretty. So I'm trying to do my best to avoid that. I thought with a double cab u needed 885s no? Sorry if I forgot to mention I had a dcab. Now the eibachs are a stronger spring rate then the 885 right. So I'm guessing any sagging will be minimal right?

885's with no spacer netted me 2 1/2" on my DCLB 4x4 , the new 885x coils are not supposed to sag , mine haven't at all in over 8 months

The Eibachs have a higher spring rate than the 885's, that does not correspond to less sagging. Resistance to sagging comes from how the coils is manufactured. The new 885x coils will resist sagging, there was an issue with the older 885 coils. You do not NEED 885's for a double cab unless you want to be around the 2.5" of lift. The 884's have the same spring rate as the 885's but are 10 mm shorter (.4 inches shorter). Therefore 884's on a double cab will set you right around 2" of lift.

    I'm just hoping to clear 33s with 885x & bilstein @ 0, if they don't I'll bump it to .85

    @joeybags

The two times I had my truck done I went to my local meineke shop in Bethlehem. The first time for the 4 5100s and aal cost me labor around 230-240. The second time with the ULK with aal and upper control arms it was about 320. But I needed some extra bolts. Prob could've found somewhat cheaper. But I like the guys there.

Installed the OME's with 5100's today and it actually went really well. Looks like just over 2.5" on my double cab 4x4. I'll take another measurement in a couple of days. Didn't have the 1.5" aal in the rear though because they shipped me the wrong leafs. Drove around a bit and there were no vibes and the cv's didn't look to bad.

I'm just 1/8th or so higher than you, I think once I get the aal's installed it might drop the front a bit. I sure seem to notice the "lean" though, something I'll just live with I guess because I don't want to go any higher in the front.

You didn't do any lean spacer ?

I have the OME trim packer and I got rid of the lean

No spacer, and I read that I couldn't use the trim packer with the 5100's.
