I plan on drilling 4 holes to put 2" - 2.5" bolts through it to bolt a box to the bed. I had a quick look under my bed before I left for work and the passenger side looks clear, but the driver side looks like something was directly under it. Anyone know?

Here is about where I plan to put the bolts.

IIRC, the bed has like a waffle pattern on the underside. I fished a washer and nut over the fuel tank to put in new D-rings on mine.

It looks like an electrical box of some sort? IDK. Maybe for the fuel pump or fuel guage??

That's what I remember too, but I've never drilled around that spot.

I'm not sure of the exact location you're looking to drill but I reemed out the drain holes in the front of the bed for my extra D-rings. It seems if the bolt is only long enough to get into the waffle part of the bed, you'd be fine (don't quote me on that, it might depend on the location but I doubt anything is tucked up that close to the bed).

well the picture I made with the pink spikes is *about* where they are going. I want to try and avoid the waffle part if I can. I plan on putting a washer in the box and under the bed

Yep! and it is about 6" back from the back of the bed
