sometimes bestbuy has sales on them and you can get them cheaper than the manufacture.

I always buy the cheap ones from eBay and have never had any issues with them being crappy.

I hate going into bestbuy stores, their online doesn't bother me too much but I can't stand going in there.

I've gotten my best, genuine, battery deals on Ebay.

    1. All the typical Ebay precautions apply......find a seller with a good rep, mainly.

    2. Do your research and know your part number !

    3. There may be a larger size battery available....know that part number.

    4. Do not buy non-genuine, generic crap.

Please do not plugin the charger with the battery in it, if you are not use it on the road! It will kill the battery

I avoid ebay for things like this unless you have proof of a quality seller. Often less reputable sellers will sell a batt that is not at the labeled capacity of mAh rating. Of course, you can go back to the mfgr to get a batt that you know will be factory, but you will pay handsomely for that. Regardless, be sure to make sure that the batt doesn't just fit, but that it offers the same mAh rating or better. I look for online stores with good rep that specialize in replacement batts - typically their quality is good and the price is at a decent discount. Level 8 Technology is where I got my last replacement for a Dell laptop. It's working great. They have good reviews and seemingly good customer service too.

Not true. It was true for NiCads but not Lithium Ion batteries. Lithium Ion batteries receive the most damage from deep discharges (running the battery until it dies). Keeping it topped up all the time will not hurt it. i just replaced my factory battery in my 5-year-old Dell. It was always plugged in.

I bought my last one from Amazon. It works great. It was a lot cheaper than from HP or any store I could find.

    I would look at:
    Amazon
    Newegg
    Microcenter
    Tigerdirect
    Staples
    Office Depot
Just a few off the top of my head. I think Circuit City and Compusa are run by Tigerdirect and/or Newegg. Compare those above listed sites to check for the best deal. (I like Microcenter, it is like Harbor Freight for computers!)
