    Easy Peasy.

If your pano will be at infinity, you don't need to worry too much about nodal points and the like. If it's closer than that, google it (actually, www.reallyrightstuff.com has some good stuff for you to read-and buy but I suggest just reading).

Basically, you want to use manual exposure. It will make for a more consistent image. Also, use a tripod if you'll be using a longish lens.

Starting left to right, take your starting image then overlap that by 25-30% and shoot another. Overlap and repeat. You can shoot any number of rows and columns.

When you're done, take a picture of your hand. Why? Helps you keep track of all of the images that make your pano.

As far as software, you can use Photoshop or any number of other packages--I use CS5 and it does a pretty good job.

That's a quick tute. Hope it helps get you started.

Open all the files in Camera Raw. Synchronize them and make whatever you need change wise. Then open the files in PS and goto "File->Automate->photomerge" and away you go. Obviously, "add open files" is the easiest way to load all the files up before you push the go button.

It will result in a huge file and when you feel like it's all good, merge visible layers to get rid of the stuff you don't need/want--unless you're one of those who saves the .psd files.

Gonna be a great new season :)

There's also an article in Outdoor Photography this month. I haven't read it yet but it's probably helpful too.

The background kind of kills it. But you could apply a blur filter to it.

Wanna try a cool trick? In PS, make a copy of the B&W layer and then change the layer properties to make it an overlay--dial back the slider till it looks good.

Here is one I took with my phone... no special effects or photo shop. If anyone wanted to photo shop it for me that would be cool.
