I bought my 2005 2WD Sport DC with 50k miles on it so the 36k mile warranty was gone before I got it. Now I'm about to go past the 60k mile drive train warranty and I don't have the TSB done.

I know the leaf springs should only be covered under the 36k mile warranty, but has anyone had it done when their truck was no longer under warranty or was it all while under warranty?

I think you would have a hard time getting it done.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I would call a dealer and ask them. If they say no, try another one. You won't know unless you ask. If all else fails, take your truck to a dealer and if he says no just pitch a royal fit and tell them you are a loyal customer and will neve by a toyota again if the don't honor it. Sometimes calling coporate will help too.

I just got it done on a 2006 with 56,000 miles. I also have the extended platinum warranty.

If you aren't covered for the TSB and they say no- taking it out on a dealer is bullshit. Those guys have to put up with enuf crap from customers with valid complaints.

I do agree tho- Ask every dealer in the area and try to find one that will hook you up. ask them for prices to order the parts for you...or look around for other options (Deaver, Dakar, Etc)

    good luck!!

Don't mean to Jack your thread but I have an 06 DC that i just purchased with about 50,000 miles. I have the extended warranty. How do I know if I need this done to my truck. Do all Taco's need this done?

You can find in depth discussion if you do a search on TSB on this site.

All taco's don't necessarily need this done, if you have a "harsh" ride or plan on hauling/towing much, then it would be a great idea to have it done. It is simply a new, slightly heavier 4 leaf pack that replaces the stock 3 leaf pack.

    Hope this helps.:)

This is worse advice I have ever seen. Use this strategy if you don't want help, why would a dealer try to help you once you have made an ass of yourself and also told them you will never buy their product again. At that
stage there no reason to help you. When customers come in and do this to me I show them the door. As do the other dealers.

Sadly the TSB you ar referencing to is a 3/36 warranty item. TSB's are not recalls.

As I have been trying to point out, this IS covered by an extended warranty, I just got it done with 56,000 miles on my truck.
