Stoped by the dealer today and put down a few bucks on a 2012 4x4 V6 Access Cab, Manual, with the TRD Sport Package, in Pyrite Mica.
    Very excited!
There was only one in the north east and it was over 300 miles away; I don't know about having a runner go pick it up from that far, plus the dealer didn't seem all that excited about going to get it. Since I'm still waiting for the buy out check for my 97 I'm in no hurry so they said they could order it for me. Then they told me it would be a little over 2 months to get in ! Does that sound about right or do you think they were just trying to scare me into going with another choice?
Not that big of a deal since my parents have a spare car they can loan me after they take away my 97 ruster, or I could take my girlfriend's race car to work
My second choice was the MGM and they were all for it since those are readily available, but the more I thought about it and the more that I looked at the Pyrite RAV4 on the showroom the more I wanted that color. He told me to think about it, and I left the deposit as "undetermined color", but by the time I got back to work I made up my mind that it was worth the wait and called to tell them to order it up!
BTW if anyone is looking in Central Jersey, Chris at Freehold Toyota was great to deal with, and I'm huge pain in the ass! Running another dealership (powersports not cars) can do that to you. I took all the BS that customers have thrown my sales staff and gave it all to him. He took it all in stride and was awesome to deal with. I told the sales manager to look out, I might have to steal him away.

Don't worry about the rain, and I hate parades anyway :p

I'm very used to the negotiation table and there was no and will be no reaming; I made sure I had everything worked out and in writing before I handed over any cash. Well everything except payment meathod, I need to see what rates they'll be offering at that time to decide if I'm going to use Toyota finance, get my own loan, or pay cash.

Deposit just locks in the truck and they can order it for me. God forbid anything goes wrong I will get it back. Plus if by some off chance Toyota puts out any incentives by the time mine comes in, they will be applying them to my purchase. But I'm not holding my breath on that one since there never seems to be much of anything on current year Tacomas.

Congrats on the new upcoming Tacoma. I just picked up a 2012 sr5 4x4 after getting rid of a 2004 Nissan Titan turd. I should have known better having 2 Toyota trucks prior to the Titan but I fell for the hype. Expensive lesson learned.

Two months wait sounds good. My dealer told me it was generally 3 months or just a little more to get an order in. When I used to order police cars, the usual wait was 90 to 100 days. But, to get what you really want, order.

Got the call the and my truck is in!
They were trying to push me to come get it right away, but sorry I got work like crazy and no time, so I made an appointment to go pick it up Monday! Then straight to my shop to install the tube steps (they wanted 3hrs labor at the dealer, yeah right) and the PitBull restraints for the bikes.

Word! Congratulations, I did the same. It was a Pyrite Mica thread that put me over the edge from MGM to Pyrite. While waiting on the DC Offroad I found one in Oregon and bought that bastard! Should arrive next week!

Pyritie Mica & manual box love.

Thanks guys. I'm just sitting here patiently waiting for my friend to give me a ride to pick it up. Where the hell is he?! Friggin bastard probably over slept!
IMXCITD, I have a few bikes, but the ones's I'm putting the restrains in for are my ZX-6R and my lady's GSX-R750 that we use on the track.
As for mods, probably not much right away. Just the tube steps, motorcycle restrains. I do want to get a bed mat so I'm going to see if they have one in stock and if they can do something for me on the price when I go pick it up, if not I'll just order the DeeZee everyone on here talks about. Down the road I definately do want to change the wheels and tires, even though they are not that bad I'm not thrilled with them. I really like the ones that come on the Tundra TRD Rock Warrior, and I found out they are available in a six lug for our trucks, but big money.
As time goes on I'm sure I'll be adding and replacing here and there.

I think im gonna purchase the same thing except auto trans. Im a fan of the Pyrite also. Im not trying to steal your thunder, I found this thread by searching what i wanted.

Dealer told me there was three in region and could have mine in 2-3 days. Not excited about having someone drive my truck either. Out the door Im looking at $31,000, that includes everything even the 300mile transfer fee. Do you think I can do better?

How is yours treating you so far? And is there anything else you wish you would have installed?

    Daniel
