I think i paid like $115 at autozone......

 

Damn. Like an idiot, I didn't shop around first and bought my D35 from Advance Auto for $250.

 

Not sure when/where you got that deal, but Autozone is currently showing $210...

 

This was like 2 years ago.... I would never spend over $200 on a battery.

 

So, you're using a "like $115" deal you got "like 2 years ago" as a benchmark for what constitutes a decent deal today?

I'm not interested in spending over $200 for a battery either. Thankfully, this is only $143 which, according to a couple of Internet searches I did, appears to be $30-$40 cheaper than today's going price...

 

would this batttery be a good choice for a high wattage stereo? 2 amps totaling over 1500 watts. ive always ran optima but never a yellow top

I bought a 35 at costco because it was a good deal but the connectors weren't a direct fit. I decided to take it back because I didn't want to hassle with trying to get it to fit.

Oh and that is a good price from Amazon. I have been watching that price for a while now and it does beat most everyone else, like Costco,autoanything and rockauto. But Autoanything says that if you find another price they will match it up to a year from purchase.

 

You should be running a Capulator on that to save your battery..

I worked for autozone about 10 years ago and they were 149$.. Getting one for 115$ sure, but from Autozone, no way.

 

According to Optima, and as reported by taco084gb, the correct Yellow top for our trucks is D35 (8040-218).

I ordered one a few years ago from Amazon, they put it in a fridge size box with a single piece of paper stuffing. Ended up with 2 batteries and my money back

 

Guess that's part of the reason Amazon started asking for "packaging feedback" on their box sizes LOL
