Hey, so parked my truck in a gravel pit over new yrs vacation for 4 days. Now, i have these black ants ALL of the body of my truck. They aren't in the cab yet, but they cover the whole outside of my truck from hood to tailgate. I've washed my truck twice and sprayed it down twice, but they just keep coming back. I crawled under my truck and cannot find them on my frame or axel. They're just on my truck body. They love the cracks and going in my side mirrors.

Any suggestions on how to get rid of them, seriously? If I spray "home defense" insect killer on my truck, will it ruin my paint job? The bottle says its stain free. But how can I get rid of this problem?!?!

    x2 lol

No I think if you give it some time they will eventually die or leave. unless you have a gigantic pile of dirt hidden in the frame rails or something.

Try the ant baits op, I had some ants go from the coffee trees around my house into my truck before, put ant bait on the underside and they went away

I don't think it would harm your paint that much, especially if you have a coat of wax on

Park it in the garage and set off 2 bug bombs then shut the door. Wash it real good after and let the inside air out.

Not sure if you guys have this in Hawaii, but I got these bait traps that work great. They are liquid ant bait made by Terro. It does not kill them right away, they carry it back. I had a steady line of ants coming into my kitchen last year. Not sure where they were going or what they were eating. Anyway, set that right in there path, they went in and out of it all day and night after I put it down. Next day, gone. Great stuff. They make a powder too, to kill ants. Good stuff.

i had the same problem, only they were inside my cab chowing down on a few dropped fries from micky d's. you know, the ones that fall between the seat and console.
anyways, i got a 12 pack of ant bait/traps and stuck one under each seat. gone in a few days. can't remember the name but they're about 2 in. square and 5/16 in tall with a peel and stick backing.
i'd stick one on each mirror and a couple on the bed rails.
moral of my story: don't have a drunken frie fight in your cab. not good. hahaha

and I would not spray any insecticide onto your paint!!!
Believe it or not a vacuum cleaner might be your best option. Use pesticide only as an almost last resort.
BTW, never heard of your ant problem, I HAVE heard of ants finding a candy wrapper inside a vehicle though!
Baits work great and the suggestion of Terro is a good one. Don't put it where children or pets can get to it.
