Glad you came back. Nothing crazy about being prepared. The crazy ones are those that aren't prepared and are nieve enough to think that nothing could ever happen

i'm getting my dad on board to start getting more prepared and i'll soon be talking to my brother. my mom is too hardheaded and has her new husband to take care of her. they continue to think his money will take care of them.

This thing is....ridiculous...... Always wanted an underground room / bunker with secret passageways, a movie room, a freaking garage!! Man.... someday. Looking at becoming a Mechanical Engineer whenever it is I get back to school. This would be a fun project, and VERY functional. Guns, ammo, tools, food, supplies, vehicles. Damn good Zombie Apocalypse set up right thur ;)

Hey Josh, not to be intrusive or anything but... could his money potentially build them a zombie shelter too? ;) Just a thought lol.

Good to see another controller on here  stay safe brother.

My dad has the right mindset but he is too frugal to actualy spend money on anything other than what he needs right then. He does have a storm cellar that I will be using to store stuff in though. I'm also in the process of building him an ar15

no, he doesn't have the money for a bunker like that. i'm thinking more along the lines of a self sustaining neighborhood of close family and friends. ;)

you're a contoller? where might you be stationed? :)

i'm looking at buying an ar and my dad is all for getting prepared, he just doesn't really have the knowledge.

my brother loves guns so know we just have to start saving and buying some stuff. i move back to Ga in less than 2 months and that's when we'll really get started with the preparations. it's going to take some time and money but i think we'll have a pretty good setup in a year or so.

I ordered the books "one second after", "surviving the economic collapse", and "man and microbes" after someone posted the first two books I just listed. The "man and microbes" book I got an interest in after a lecture in bio class.

I had never given thought to an EMP, I've only read the first 70 pages on "one second after" and wow it is an eye opener for sure. It's no suprise though that in such an event things would go to shit very quickly.
