    then it's his job to contact your insurance and it's your job to get your insurance to fix your truck.

    Go get a couple estimates. Your insurance will send an adjuster. Tell them you want to go to a shop of your choosing and to have them send you a check of the damage.

    Use the check, order the bumper, pocket the rest.

    If he doesnt file a claim with your insurance and goes with his, then his insurance will subrogate to your insurance, and your insurance will still pay for all his damages.

    If your insurance pays you the money to fix your bumper, your rate will increase too.

    only way for your insurance not to increase is to not have them pay any money because of you.

    If your insurance goes up a lot, call and bargain with your rep. if she doesnt decrease your premium, switch to another insurance company.

    Insurance companies look for accidents going 5 years back.
