I've never been yelled at, but I have been told by an acquaintance who drives a 3/4 ton dodge that I should drive an American truck. I made sure to make him look at the assembly point of his truck (Mexico City) and then showed him mine (San Antonio). He was a bit surprised to say the least.

Today I was driving on rt 50 by Annapolis Maryland when this guy in a ford ranger pulled up next to me and started wailing on his horn. My first thought was he must be someone who knows me but when I looked over he accelerated and pulled in front of me. On the back window of his cab was written ‘Toyota – Lexus, Got Brakes?’ He sped away after he was satisfied I had read his little message. He rode ahead of me for several miles, every time he passed a Toyota he would slow and beep at them.

Next month I will have owned my truck 11 years and this is the first time I got crap about it. There are so many Toyotas in that area I bet he will be pressing that horn more than the accelerator.

    .
Hopefully, when that jerkoff's truck is broken down on the side of the road, Toyo and Lexus guys can drive by and beep at him.

Well since they have officially made the last Ford Ranger in the US, then the jokes on him. Tacomas are selling like hot cakes!

My wife bought American! Got a Saturn Vue! Proudly built in Tennessee too! Got the damn thing home and opened the hood, only to find out they stuffed a Honda 3.5 V6 in it! I was ready to take the thing back.....but it drove so nice! Guess it's one of them so called "hybrids!"

You should get a sticker that says: 'Ranger - got discontinued?' So next time you see him on the road and pass him up so you can return the favor :D

Maybe get some stickers that say "Ford Ranger Got Value?" Or "Ford Ranger Got Tow Truck?" ;)

Never happened to me but I wish someone would. My Tacoma was built in Texas by Americans. When is GM going to need another Goverment bail out? A lot of farmers here in the south are driving Yota trucks on the farms because they last.

You know I've heard that they didn't even need the bailout that their sorry asses took the money and invested it, just used it to make extra $ then paid it back. :notsure: I think it was my father in law that told me this. IDK how he heard this but he follows politics pretty heavily.

I need some "bailout money". :D

I've owned them all, Fords, chryslers, GM. The worst was a Dodge Caravan, a mechanical nightmare. The GMC Jimmy I had was not much better, nickle and dimed me to death. Mercury Sable, trany went out a 50,000 miles, by the time it hit 100,000, nothing worked. Since the "American Made" fiasco, I've owned a 2001 Camry, 2003 4Runner, Currenly own a 2011 Rav4 (my wife's) and am trading the Camry in on a Tacoma. I have never had a major break down on any of the Toyotas and all cars combined maybe one or two minor issues. I doubt if I will ever buy a truly "American Made" vehicle again. Ford, GM, Chrysler, have had 100 years to get right and instead have chosen to sell the American public junk. It took foreign competition to at least wake them up a little. Sorry for my long disertation.

I had a 4.7L Ram following me around yesterday doing one wheel peels and the sort. I had attributed it to degradation of crucial gray matter. Maybe it was partly this anti-toyota sentiment.

I do feel better in the Taco though. In my old miniature Honda I started to feel like the proverbial fly avoiding the flyswatter.

I'm thinking about getting a Made in USA or Made in America sticker for my Tacoma. People should really love that.

Wow! "Get a life" comes to mind.

Maybe you should put a sticker on yours that says "Have you driven a Ford Exploder lately?" Because that'd make about as much sense.

This old timer in his old Ford farm truck (farm use plates and all) honks at me whenever he sees me. One day him and I are going to meet at dunken donuts or something and I'm gonna offer to shake his hand and buy him a coffee. Then I will explain how my truck was made at the NUMMI plant in the good old USA.

I live in big-time GM country. One run-in the gas station attendant told me to "buy American". I asked if that was his C1500 parked nearby and got a "yes". I told him if I open the door on my '89 Xtracab it will say "Assembled in USA" and his would say "Assembled In Canada". He wouldn't take the bet.

My co-workers aren't too bad. They are a bunch of Ford drivers. I just tell them to show me their blue book after it is 8 years old. One guy I have known for +20 years I work with. Diehard Chevy guy for years. He came in with a new Tundra last year and loves it. He now wants to trade-in on a Rock Warrior.

I am '6"5/#250 so I really don't get much shit from people.

I had an F250 lifted on maybe 35's pulling a trailer get on my arsh the other day, I just kinda laughed not paying him any attention. He would back off get a run and get up on me again, WTF? I mean if he feels so superior, why does he feel the need to do this? Seems like he had something to prove to me. I couldn't see what was on the trailer to get an idea of how much weight he was hauling but it was kinda funny that when we hit an up hill he fell way back then when we started down hill he come running up like gang busters. I don't care that he can tow more or what ever, that's what he bought his truck for. Mine serves the purpose I bought mine for, I don't need a diesel since I don't tow very often. so :brianr:!

The term "BUY AMERICAN" has lost its meaning a long time ago.
