Just picked up my magnetic grey acces cab with 4x4, v6, and auto for 25K out the door. I had to drive to 2 hours away to get it because the local dealer wanted 28.5k for the same truck.

Damn! I just skimmed through this thread and I'm really glad I bought when I did (Sep '08). Mine is a 2008, DC Short bed 4x4 SR5 #2, towing package, 16" alum wheels, door sill guards, 4 pc. mat set.

    MSRP $29,964
    Paid $24,430 + TTL (after $2k rebate)

No trade in and I had my own financing. This was an internet deal, I haggled with several dealers by e-mail and played them against one another. I had them all send me dealer invoice sheets with all of the vehicle's info and stock #'s so they couldn't pull the bait and switch. I was in and out of the dealer in about 1.5 hours...

Okay, had to dig up my invoice. I paid $31,439 for a silver double-cab short bed V6 with off-road and tow packages. Added another $2300 in accessories (security system, step bars, bull bar, bed divider, bed extender, bed step, etc). Also added the extended warranty.

With tax and plates, the full price was $35,650. It arrived in about a week. Handed over a check for $10000 and drove it home. Dealer is installing the accessories today.

nah first off you are asking for people to share some information that might be touchy and then you seemto be acting somewhat like a child that didnt get the same toy as his brother. IMO

dealer invoice is a joke because the factory doesnt add all the crap to the price-dealers do. every "option" you get adds hundreds to the price. i.e. floor mats cost like 300 bucks, come on man.

also i have been down to my toyota dealership to find a tundra used and talk with my salesman that i have bought two vehicles through and push my friends and family too. he states that they use psychology on you to get you tired of the process and willing to budge for a higher price that is a 7th offer... they pay people just for the quick talk and look at my left while i do bad things with my right.

anyway, they have multiple taco trucks during toyotaton that were on the lot a 38! but people were walking out at 29-34 depending on trim and how many over priced add ons that they bought. my main dude told me he could get me 9k off the tx pro package bringing it to like 30-31k on a invoice price of 39 with the "cool" faux beadlocks and such. with entune.

    1. dont tell them where you work, how much you make, etc.
    2. tell them it will be between X bank and toyota for financing
    3. dont tell them anything about a down payment, make them meet your line then drop the cash to lower the final number again.
    4. do not take the vehicle you will trade in either. that way they have to find a good price on a rig to sell then you work in the equity of your trade to again lower the final number.
    5. dont act like it matters to buy a truck, just say you are just waiting while you kid does karate or something and you are shooting the feces.
6.after you get the best price from dealer one say thanks and you will think about it. go to dealership 2 and work it against them. even better tell dealership one your number and tell them where you are going.

this is how i got my 09 trd sport with everything from bed nets to floormats for 29. then added my down payment of 3k traded my 06 taco for (16k-9k for what i owed) making my final out the door-finance charges for ~19k. it happens.

i also think that you have to be crafty, sneeky, and darn right rude sometimes to get what you want. and if i want a new truck i want it for a great price and will return to the dealership every 2 weeks say hi and look for that deal.

    patience x reason= great deal

You know what life is short, I've been married for 40 years, raised two great kids, made my mistakes in life, had my little victories, I'm an honest person, try to treat everybody like my brother or sister on this planet. I am not going to fret over whether I paid too much for something I am going to enjoy. You guys shouldn't either. Life is short.

the dealer adds all of those fees and crap because thats how they make money!!! i got a quote for the access cab sport 4x4 4cyl. at 27,000 out the door, but they offered me the double cab sport v6 for 29,000...i couldnt pass up on that deal so i went with the double cab....but in the end it doesnt really matter what you pay...the main thing is that you are happy. thats really all that counts!!!:)
