Should have an electrical "map" in the factory manual. Find the chime and disable it. Don't have my Taco yet but with my /76 Ford, I have to remove the seat belt whenever I get on a well rutted logging road or my gut will pay the price.

I believe the odometer-code trick doesn't work on '11 with new white gauges. I cannot get it to work on my '11 DC with white gauges.

I've read that disconnecting the wire under the seat will also cause the airbags to not deploy so I'm hoping there is another code-trick for the new '11 with the white gauges.

It only affects the airbag on the passenger side due to the weight sensor. I have my drivers side unplugged under the seat and the airbag will still operate for the driver. I use the seat belt extenders for that side when I have my briefcase and laptop sitting in the passenger seat.

I am surprised there are people with such limited intelligence that would want to defeat something that has to do with safety. Are just that lazy you can not buckle up? Or are you trying to make it into the Darwin Awards? Whats next how to turn off those pesky air bags? Oh well, stupid is, stupid was.

Well utard, you are exactly as your user name describes. Many of us use or trucks in areas that are 10 mph or lower. I drive many miles a day on active flight line areas that are regulated at 10 mph. You show a complete lack of understanding of what people across this country do with their tacomas. Wake up and lose the bias that governs your thought. You will be a much more informed person when you get over the limited thought you now posess.

Watering your belt is a new one to me. Just kidding. I completely support your decision.
I don't want to skydive or bungee jump. We all have our levels of risk we are willing to take. I just do not appreciate when a intelligence challenged individual decides to make a judgement based on limited scope.

Im sure you drive your tacoma....not much else you can do with it. Whether you drive it off road, or on a air strip, if shit hits the fan, you will be more safe with your seat belt on than off. And I agree, turning off saftey features/reminders is an easy way to get into the Darwin Awards, they are their for a reason.
Remember, This is America, land of the free and lazy.

This reminds me of that thread that was started about the guy who was to alxy to hit the unlock button twice to get his doors to go.

Yes, sarcasm, I would be ultimately safer if I did not leave the house. Read the OP's post. He did not ask what would be safer, he asked how do I turn the annoying chime off. You have your opinion on safety features and there is merit to that opinion in certain situations. However, the OP did not ask for you opinion on safety, so I am thinking you can STFU.

i have to agree... i didn't mean for my first post to create such drama. i would like it disabled so every time i have a gallon of milk and groceries in the passanger seat, i don't get the chime. i really thought others understood my intentions and weren't so judgemental. sorry for touching a nerve.

Same here with my laptop and gear. Still think that you should just get the free 6 inch belt extender from the dealer to use for that situation, that is unless you can get the dealer to disable it. Cany get mine to do that though.
