Them bastards!! They messed up your business venture, and didn't give us what we want! Is there a way to retro-fit a 05-11 switch in there?
Any reason to believe that a 2011 switch won't fit the 12?
Or even just the knob? I doubt if it is a seperate replaceable item tho.

Yea, I walked out to my Tacoma after posting and DUH, aint no doubt its diferent. Altho its size looks incerdibly close to the Tundra switch.
Probably not tho it would be too easy.
Haven't got used to the changes from my 09.

I received the Tundra switch measurements from another thread and sure enough it won't fit the Tac as it measures 21/2 dia and the Tac is 21/4.
Tried to remove switch a few minutes ago to no avail.
Pulled with needle nose and found it acts like it has a positive stop altho it does move in and out a good 1/16, afraid to pull too hard.
Tried turning CW and CCW, nope, that no work.
looks like removing the plactic piece surounding the switch will be hell to remove as there isn't anyplace to get behind it to try and pry.
I don't like the way this is headed, I still think the chincy bastards should have lighted the switch at the factory, at 33k for the truck whats another 5-10 bucks.

What about an overlay with the H2, H4 and L4 labeled on it then small holes in the switch mounting with LED's shining through the holes. More effort and it would cost more as you would have to find someone to do the overlay on some sticky backed plastic and even though it is a 2" circle the printing of the H2, H4 and L4 might be cost prohibited. It's an idea though........Wonder if SockMonkey could pull this off, might want to see if an how the LED's would shine through his material. :)

Another thought, wonder how cheap you could get that switch bracket from 05-11....? Clean out every junk yard in America for them......

Good thoughts, The volume of customers so far is pretty small, 5-8, If the interest was say in the 100's i might research the matter.

I'm game for a lighted 12 switch. That was the first thing I checked when I hopped in the truck before purchasing. I couldn't believe Toyota STILL hadn't lighted this switch.

Well, IMHO the first thing to do is to find a Service manual and find out how to remove the switch.
If I can get my switch out I can look and see if it has a space for the light.

They are throwing everything at the Tundra, not caring about the Tacoma.
Tacoma sales are good so they are pushing the Tundra, thus it gets all the goodies.

I would definitely be interested in a kit for the 12 if you're able to pull it off.

Well i stopped at the dealership today, and looked over the 2012's, and got my head under the dash one to see if i could see the switch from behind, but no luck. The sales guys was really wondering what the hell i was doing too. I had to take it for a drive as well, gotta say, there is really not too many differences then my 05. I have far better electronics and creature comforts than the new ones. Mines is fully loaded, if i was to buy a new one, i would be stepping backwards! :D

Anyways, i may be just buying a 2012 switch straight out, so there had better be some buyers out there, to help pay for the development costs.

Stay Tuned!

Hell just say the word and I will go half with you on the switch so you don't have to carry all the load on this project.
But first we need to find out how to remove the 2012 switch.
