There are very few places to go 4 wheeling. They are cracking down a lot. Heads up, some of these places can land you a fine.

No doubt anyone been out to the point lately and seen all the signs of where you cannot go? I think the best bet now is peacock flats...

Yup all you need is a permit for peacock flats. Or if you know anyone in Waikane.

Another thing I should mention is that, if you do decide to go up there, expect some damage. I called the permit office and they said "you need a pretty capabable 4 wheel drive". Bring your own water an food. There are groups that go up from time to time.

Correct, dont be suprised if you need to replace parts or missing a mirror lol..up there is very challanging. Waikanes is also another harder place, expect damage from there too.

Yup peacocks is rough broke a tie rod last time I was up there, and yes if you break down up there you are on your own in getting down, they will not open up any of the paved roads up. Unless you stay on the main path you can expect to get some damage. On the point though I am suprised DLNR didn't say anything to you they stopped my buddy in his jeep and gave him a warning, but I was out there last week and they were pretty lax so guess it depends on who is out there.. Anyone ever go play off road over in Kialua off the old dump road? I was cruising over there last week seen some areas right off the road but was not sure if you get into trouble or not.

I used to go Kahuku before my quad got stolen..All I had when I went was a dodge 2 wheel drive so never went up exploring in my truck. but when it rains up there it gets nasty could be good in a truck but I dont think the riders would like it to much not sure.

One of the guys I work with always talks about going down by the old dump road but haven't tried yet. It's illegal, not sure what the penalty is but the giant boulders are there for a reason!
