You need to be a bit ... "Persuasive" mine really didn't want to do it until i mentioned the harsh ride, and then still tried to tell me it would run too hard and rough when not loaded (which was BS)

I had to almost get to the point of telling them i would go somewhere else, then they caved and did it.

How does the truck ride empty after you have the spring pack TSB done? Am thinking of just going the Firestone ride rite way so it would ride good when empty.

I didn't feal much of a difference. Feels flatter thru turns and a bit less bouncy. Deff not harsh as the dealer tries to play off.

    +1, I added 5100's too. The 4 leaf pack + 5100's is a much better ride.

My truck has a bad leaf spring. I wish I could get this done at the dealership but my truck has a rebuilt title. Aftermarket leaf springs are a lot higher than I expected.

Since I have the 4cyl regular cab Taco it was not covered under the TSB so I ordered the Old Man Emu 2" lift with the Dakar leaf springs which just got here. The Dakar leaf springs have 5 main leafs with two giant over load leafs and look AWESOME. I can hardly wait to have them installed. I hate my Toyota dealerships service department and am more than happy to not have to deal with them and their incompetence.

Just some 411. I have a 2011 DC 4x4 long bed sport edition. I had the TSB performed on the rear leaf springs a couple days ago. My local dealer was really cool about it. They didn't have the parts in stock but ordered them over the holiday. Called me up as soon as they came in and we scheduled the appointment etc. Well I have to say I did notice the difference afterwards. My truck does feel a little stiffer in the rear and flatter in the corners. Rear end is higher and noticeable after looking out the windshield and over the hood scoop. Not sure exactly how much the rear went up but I feel like I need to raise the front now to level it out? Idk. Or if the the springs will settle down a little after break in? I haven't loaded down the rear yet but will be doing that soon with a couple dirt bikes, gear and a loaded trailer with a quad or two on it. Overall I'm happy that I got the TSB because I know I will be loading my truck down and it will drive and tow so much better than before. So with that said for anyone considering getting this TSB done; I would recommend it if your going to be doing any kind of towing or if your using your taco for work or anything else that may require putting a lot of weight in the bed.

ANYONE THINK THIS SPRING PROBLEM MIGHT BE RELATED TO THE TRUCK SITTING SO MUCH LOWER ON THE DRIVERS SIDE? AND PULLING TO THE LEFT WITH WEIGHT IN THE TRUCK? THEY SAY IT MEETS THE SPECS BUT IT SURE LOOKS LIKE CRAP AND MY LEVEL DOESN'T LIE...

THAT'S WHAT'S KNOWN AS TACO LEAN , IT'S DUE TO THE GAS TANK , DRIVER , AND BATTERY ALL BEING ON THE SAME SIDE

THANKS FOR THE IMPUT BUT IT STILL LOOKS LIKE CRAP AND IT DOESN'T MATTER IF IT'S ON E OR F. WONDER WHY THEY COUDN'T ADD A SHIM TO THE LEFT SIDE SPRING? FROM ALL MY MEASUREMENTS THAT WOULD BE THE FIX?? OR MAYBE I'M JUST GETTING TO OLD TO UNDERSTAND ALL THIS NEW STUFF..LOL

My drivers side spring is shot but its more than just lean. The spring has no arch at all and pretty much flattened out.

I don't have any 1 issue thats a dealbreaker for me but after having old toyota trucks the new one just isn't doing it for me.
After I put a new leaf spring on I'm putting my truck up for sale.

The whole list of problems comes from Toyota not putting sufficient springs on the back and the truck sags under normal unladden weight let alone a load in the back as well. They then found out the leaf spring eyes where breaking under load from being over stressed so they made some excuses and put the TSB out instead of a recal and are upgrading the people who complain to the heavier spring packs that should have been on all the trucks in the 1st place. If you read the posts nobody is having harsh ride problems just weight bearing problems. Have the TSB done or add an overload spring or get the Old Man Emu Dakar springs as I did and the problems will be solved.

You know it's funny, These Toyota service departments make money for doing warranty repairs from Toyota and they all are trying their hardest to not do the TSB spring upgrade to help their customers who they will need in the future. There is Toyota dealerships all over the place and I am going to another dealer if I have any questiones or need anything because the people at the dealership where I bought my truck can not answer questions and did not look out for my best interest when I questioned them about the TSB spring upgrade and fight for me when my truck was not included in the TSB and can not hold any weight in the back without sagging with it's nose way in the air...
