headers and intake

i have a 03 taco with v6 and was wondering if headers, cold air intake and throtle body spacer make any difference on these truck be honest thanks

 

Headers might give you 7 or 8 horses, deckplate mod will give you a little bit more, and the TB spacer will do nothing.

Overall not even close to worth the cost, well at least for the headers and tb spacer.

The deckplate mod is worth the 10 bucks or so.

 

The ultimate HP for our trucks is to get a SC kit.

Throttle body spacers are better served as paperweights. TRD headers are nice....but with what you'd spend on them,gaskets and install....not worth the cost.

 

This past summer I installed headers (JBA-shorty), new cats and an exhaust (JBA) and a K&N CAI. Maybe, picked up 1-2 mpg, which over a period of time might pay itself back. There was no impressive increase in power or torque....just sounds better, sucking in the air and sucking down the fuel, but the sound however, fromt he exhaust is a completely different story. I have a smile everytime I hear that great music.
Worth the $$$ of admission, yes and no for different reasons.

 

Only new headers that are worth getting are custom ones with a T4 turbo flange on it.


Opening up the exhaust a tiny bit and the deckplate mod will give you a bit better throttle response. Thats it really tho. CAI are NOT worth the money.

Forced air is the only way to get more power out our trucks. A SC kit, or custom Turbo.

 

headers are nice if you have the money. But on a V6 its going to be big cash..

Cold air intakes are junk (do a deckplate if you want to mess with the intake)

And throttle body spacers are straight up retarded.

One thing about headers though is most of the power you gain will be in the 3000 rpm and higher area, and you gain a bit of low end torque...and that is about it.
