I think I would go with the WO's and add something like this or this for the extra storage.

the coverking tacticals are the same thing as their ballistic seat covers which are made of Cordura fabric (like soft luggage)

I am trying to find some pics of someone that actually has one
of course a google search leads me right back here to TW and this gentleman who got the ballistic ones...

Cordora. Or however they spell it, is not very soft at all. Thats what our GI bags and vests are made of. Durable but not soft at all. I think I'm gonna pass on these for my DD.

So I finally took some pics of my EDC BOB. This is just a sample of the things I have accumulated and I am adding to it daily. Also keep in mind I have much much more that I keep in my vehicles. Sorry for the bad quality phone pics...

This is a shot of the pack....a Condor Assault Pack
    [IMG]

One side I carry an extra set of underwear, undershirt, socks, and wool socks
    [IMG]

The other side has an extra dog leash, portable ipod speakers with extra batteries, a Buck knife, and my ESEE 6" Randall knife. I was told to always have 3 knives at available at all times
    [IMG]

The rear compartment holds a collapsible shovel, a few hundred feet of 550 cord, a tactical holster for my HK, and two boxes of personal protection ammo.

The interior pouch holds some playing cards, the manual to my Casio Pathfinder, some sticky notes, a large sharpie, a combo mini lock, a mini flat head, ear protection and two additional knives
    [IMG]

A shot of the main compartment where I store the medic pouch that came with the bag, some emergency food, dust masks, and the box for my HK which holds my LCP.380 as the HK is my EDC
    [IMG]

These are the contents of the medic bag which came with the pack: additional food, leatherman type tools, plastic utensils, wet naps, honey, sugar, condoms, pencil, markers, eraser, ear protection, eye protection, clorox disinfectant wipes
    [IMG]

Remember this is in addition to all the items I mentioned in earlier posts which I keep in my vehicle...

yeah i read up on this before I bought them. Its about 80 degrees = 3.5 years~, 100 degrees = 9 months and then 120 degrees = 3 months. Summer time in so cal may require me to do something about that. Its been about 80 here lately so I'll check on what its feeling like inside the box sometime today after the trucks been parked for a while.

i'm sure you guys have already noticed this but, i never realized this until last night.

i go to home depot and buy a bunch of energizer ultimate lithium battery's to rotate stuff out of my bag and replenish what i have used. in my one pack i had some standard battery's and the weight for one regular aa battery seemed like 5 of the lithium battery's

is it just me here cause the lithiums seem to weigh almost nothing when compared to a traditional battery?

haha I do have a pouch of chili mac in there. I really want to try it..I've had a raviollie meat sauce one before and it was good. Out of the 24 I have, I have only opened one and I picked the worst one which was lemon pepper tuna

if anyone is still in school i recommend seeing if you can take a emergency and disaster management course. i just got out of that class and let me tell you, i hate school and everything about it but when i walked out of that class today i was actually excited to go back on thursday lol we are gonna cover some really interesting stuff. we even talked about escape routes from campus if a flood happened (in the mountains here, it will only take 5 inches of hard rain to flood us because the college is in a valley)

Sounds fun! I wish I had time to take a class like that.

Im on chapter 4 of "one second after" and its pretty good so far. Chapter one was really slow and boring though..haha
