15's on a second gen

Hello,

I bought a set of 15" pro comp steel wheels for my second gen. It has a 32" X 11.5 all terrain. I made them fit by adding a 1.25 spacer and grinding down on the calipers a bit. I love how it looks but I ended up busting the right caliper. Now I see that the only way to get them to fit without ruining the calipers is to put in a 2 inch spacer. Does anyone have any advice if it will work or how bad I might mess up my truck If i do that. The plan is to put in new ungrinded calipers and then the spacer.

 

Seems like it'd be a lot easier to go with 16" or 17" wheels... Personally, I'm not a fan of spacers and definitely wouldn't want one that big on the truck.

 

A 2" spacer on top of what looks like less than 3" of backspacing? Bad idea..
Your best option is to get new wheels and tires...

 

That looks sweet! Yea ive heard 15's are basically impossible to fit.. But you might be onto something i wouldnt want to widen it more though, what lift set up do you have?

 

2" wheel spacers,not for me.puts alot of added stress on the front end

 

Any detail on those roof lights aswell?

 

Curious why you are so dead set on 15s.

I have 0 fitment issues with my 16s and is an easy size to find tires.

 

Your wheel bearings will hate you. Also, you will increase your scrub radius dramatically.

Did you use the stock wheel studs with your 1.25" spacer?

 

Yeah those wheels stick out way too far as it is. I'm surprised you can turn at all without rubbing. Looks pretty silly actually IMO,

 

Looks like one of those 90s model Chevy Mexican trucks that have the wheels completely outside of the fenderweel

I have a 3 inch space in the front and an add a leaf which gives me around 2 inch in the back. I am about to put a 3 inch block and some pro comp shocks on top of that though.

 

I dont really care that much on the size. They are just the ones I bought thinking they would fit. I like how they look so I will try that last option and see if it will work for me if not they will be on craigslist soon.

 

You can't stack lifts like that on an independent front suspension. You will have no down travel left and your ball joints will bind. Do not do that.

 

So you have a 3" spacer lift up front, a 2" AAL for the back, 15" rims that you want to run 2" wheel spacers with and are not thinking about a 3" block for the rear???

I gotta ask, did you just search though TW for the set up with the most issues and lowest performance? Just seems like you're asking for trouble with that set-up...

 

Here it is. I was thinking some fender flares might help.

 

Actualy re-reading i can't tell if he's talking about stacking front and rear lifts or only the rear.

 

I assumed rear but that would be horrible if he was planning on adding another block to the front. The 3" block on the rear will just produce horrible axle wrap, the front would tear up the whole front end without a drop bracket.
