    Thanks for the quick response. One more question, I have 40K miles on my 08 2WD w/o LSD. Do I need to replace my rear differential oil? It has never been done and it does not say to do it in the maintenance manual that came with my PreRunner. Just a daily driver and I do not regularly tow anything with it. Non-harsh conditions.

    You can do it on level ground...I did mine anyway. Some have said they jack up either side alternately to make sure they get all the old fluid out.

    Pretty sure I have looked everywhere, but I can't find a how-to on the front diff and transfer case oil. Also, the recommended mileage to replace the two. Anyone know? The maintenance guide seems to think that if you don't tow, the t-case and front diff oil lasts infinitely...

    when do you need to change the front diff fluid? i did my rear diff at 30k using these instructions as recommended but i didn't see when to do the front. i only tow sometimes and rarely for anything more than like 10 miles. thanks

    That was my question.

    If you tow, the maintenance guide says every 15k miles.

    Too few to list.
    Same concept as the rear diff, low plug=drain, high plug=fill. It's pretty simple. I forget but I think the t-case takes 1.3qt which I like to use synthetic fluid in, seems it makes shifting from 2-4 smoother but it could just be my imagination. Like Chris said, replace diff fluids no more than 30K, same for T-case. If towing on a regular basis, 15K.

    FWIW ... did mine @ 41K ... it was as bad or worse than the rear. Put it on a 15-20K sched from now on. But consider I use 4x4 at hwy speed more than most during Winter.
