    Side note,

    Everyone, PLEASE.... keep your smoke detectors in working order and keep one on each floor of the house! Another helpful fact, buy photoelectric or combo photoelectric/ionization detectors!!!! Studies have shown these detectors catch the smoke/fire much faster than plain ionization detectors thus giving you more time to control the situation/ get out.

    And Make sure any Gas Appliances are in good working order!
    My Brother wasnt home when the fire broke out, but the cause was a malfunctioning, older water heater. Have these things checked! From what I have been told, they dont last longer than 10 years. The one my brother had was bought at a garage sale, and was 14 or 15 years old.
