When i drive on the hwy or above like 55mph my truck vibrates. But I'm not sure why, think it's the CV's? My angles are super bad cuz i only have a 3 inch spacer lift.

It kinda makes sense actually Ron. Think about the gases coming out of your pipe, say 2.5, then into a suddenly larger part, like 3''. It'll act like a canyon would if you yelled into it. The gasses sound it creates have a part to reverabrate off of which would in turn make constructive and desturctive wave interferance with the sound, changing the tone, and loudness.

 

Id get the tires balanced first, if you still have problems try the drop.

 

I had the tires balanced awhile back and it still vibrated on the hwy so I guess I'll give the drop a try when i get some time and funds.

 

Yeah i installed it with the lift. I got it because it was only $30 and other people were using too. Only problem was they sent standard bolts instead of metric so i couldnt use the oem flange nut, had to buy some.

Im thinking once my boots go and the springs settle ill take a look at some aftermaket cv's and possibly remove it. Would be nice to have another 1" of clearance in the front. But it depends on your lift. If you have 2", i wouldnt bother. 3"+ and i would think about it.

 

Do you have a carrier bearing drop? Is your driveline straight?

 

No i don't have any kind of drop. I think it has a slight tilt

 

Next time your under there, grab it where its connects in the middle and try and wiggle back and forth. Your carrier bearing could worn out.

Headed for a 5 day road trip! What PSI do y'all keep your tires at? I've got them at ~31 psi

 

I just rotated mine and set all of them at 25 psi

 

Damn that's pretty low isn't it? The door jam says 26 all around but it seems like everyone on here is running 30+

 

Depends on whether you want better cornering or gas milage- Run higher PSI to get better mpg's and lower psi (not to low because the tire still needs some push-back) for better cornering

 

I have 33 x 12.5 dura tracks... It's pretty hard to get all the tread on the pavement

 

I have the same problem with my 33x12.5's. I've lowered it down to 30 psi for Highway use.

I'll watch to see if the outside shows more ware.

 

I kept my 31x10.5s at like 38-35. Seemed to work great. Been keeping my 33x12.5s at like 30-32
