Not really. I have to bring all my lunch, water, etc out with me because we are literally in the middle of no where with nothing but 1 porta toilet. No shade, no nothing. So what ever you bring is what you have.

Depending on what we are doing I can usually find 10 minutes to shove a home made sandwich (or a subway since its open 24/7) into my mouth. Today was only 82 out here and I went through 6 32oz bottles of water and 2 gatorades. At least its not july out here. Last year in July it was 122 in the shade of my truck.

I complain but I like the job because I get to blow stuff up. But it still sucks.

And yes, I do get overtime. I get paid from the time i leave my hotel room until the time I arrive back which is usually about 17-18 hours a day 6-7 days a week until testing is done. It pays for toys, bikes, the truck, and parts for my 67 firebird.

490 for rebuild/balance/replace rear half. Ouch.

Gonna be getting my lt racing ucas rebuilt, then pull diffs, front, and rear for rebuild. Whole they're out, ill finish the driver side rear bearing I never changed, I've done the others. Put in the ucas. Diff drop. New cv axles (again, stupid boots). New lca bushings. Maaaaybe new spring bushings at top of shock tower. And maaaybe steering bushings while I'm at it. Both diffs will go to az differential to get done right, and regeared. Maaaybe while I'm at it ill drop tranny/transfer case to get rebuilt as well. Then bumpers and sliders. Theeeen shell and rack. Aaaaand done until my motor goes. Ill keep eyes open for a 3.4l that I can slowly rebuild in the meantime. Considering sc as it will be a offroad vehicle, but afraid of reliability of a sc on the trail, more parts to go bad.

Do the steering bushings. They are around $20 and make a huge difference

No its the one he couldn't get the bolt out of.. but we got it out last weekend.. couldn't you fill it with fluid? Or an air hose and see if you can feel the air through the seams? Idk. Lol. I'd say just replace them too.. since Its off the truck anyways. Should be easy.

    1. VatoZone

Also known as AutoZone. Grease monkeys like to call the store "VatoZone" because many Vato types who work on their rides regularly shop there. Also, Vato types can also often be observed working there.
