    i did this yesterday and my truck has 30k miles on it and my OEM breather was rusted and had all kinds of stuff falling out of it once i took it off. i guess deep snow is just as bad as deep water. either way its done now!

    I just did this mod this past weekend, took me about an hour, but I was doing other things at the same time. Overall cost about $20 and was very easy. Hardest part was getting the new breather seated in the 1/4" tubing, what I tight fit.

    I had more trouble getting it to come out than I did getting it to go back in.

    You have to 'rotate' it in to place. Mine didn't make any obvious clicking noises or anything but it's in there securely and doesn't move.

    These are the parts I used and they work just fine. You are getting a 2 way breather as replacement as well since the OEM part is a one way breather and would still suck water through the seals.
