Just found this video on youtube. Not sure if it has been discussed already. I think it looks pretty cool. Nice suspension. Nice wheels. But...$35k? A bit much for a Tacoma. I think they need to really focus on Horsepower now. With a TRD supercharger, youre probably looking at close to $40k. If i'm spending that much on a truck, its going to be a full-size.

I think its stupid that Toyota does such lame attempts at making something "out-of-the-ordinary".

I think the suspension upgrades they gave it should simply be something you could opt. for in a TRD model. The graphics are dumb. I don't mind the wheels. However, they are fake bead locks again.

We need Toyota deisel motors in our trucks....

Toyota and Honda are stuck in a rut. They seem to have forgotten how to innovate anymore. I can't remember any really game changing products that Toyota made since the Prius 10-11 years ago. The next NSX is still a V6. WTF is up with Honda and its stubborn reluctance to make a meaningful engine? Geez, don't get me started.

Lol. I feel ya. 2009 was a very sad year for me.

    S2000's last year
Pontiac (Most importantly the G8) 's last year
Saturn (Most importantly the Sky)'s last year

Import brands need to bring back some real sports cars. The new Subaru/Toyota compact sports car could have potential, but we'll see this year.

I think Toyota charges an extra $2k for that.

Them doing the lift means problems with vibrations and diff bearing failure is all on them. Nice if you ask me. $35K aint that much for a truck when they are $40K in Canada.

if these are the kind of "packages" toyota will be offering on tacomas, I would much rather wait for the diesel Jeeps and possible dakota in 2013.

I've driven the new VW Amarok and rustic Nissan np300 in Mexico, both with turbo diesel engines, and for a smaller truck I prefer a diesel engine. Both of these models and the diesel Hilux(not sold in North America at all) get 28-32 mpg hw as well. I love my Tacoma but it's disappointing that no company offers what I want in the USA. The Amarok was far superior on the highway, not even close, but I prefer a Hilux diesel if I had my choice. Even considered making my house in Mexico my permanent residency so I could drive a Mexican plated Amarok in the USA.

But if Jeep or Ram bring what I want to the USA I will give them a try. It's frustrating seeing these silly packages and Toyota not even considering bringing the diesel engine so many of us want because of the cali carb laws.

    I'd rather have a XLT 4X4 F150 w/ a 5.0L - they're selling for 30-32K right now. More truck for less money.

People like more money in their pockets, period.

So they get frustrated when they have to pay more when there are other options out there that aren't available for them to take advantage of.

The truck would do everything it does now, and use less fuel. I don't really see how that's bad, especially since US gas is going back to $4-$5 a gallon , and gas/diesel here in Canada is probably going to hit close to $1.50/litre this summer.

I think its great that toyota will be selling a lifted truck from the factory. It will be interesting to see if the undercarriage configuration will share part #'s front diffs etc with the current trucks. If it does, it will give all of us with lifted trucks and bad diff bearins some ammo to get toyota to step up and fix the problem with the front diff bearing...now would i buy the Baja edition taco, hell no :)
