would anybody happen to know if i can fit the hella BM 1000s behind my grill? i see people using the 500s behind the grill but the 1000s r a lil bigger (i think)...im oferend the 1000s dirt cheap but i only want them if i can fit them behind my thin lip satoshi...i dont have the grill yet so i cant test fit them real quick...if they will fit, does anybody know where i can find a picture of somebody doing this? ive searched a bit and havent found anything...maybe that should tell me something but it cant hurt to ask TW... id really appreciate responses... thanks

The 700s barely fit with some extra room. Check the hella website for specs, and if there like 3/4 of an inch bigger they probably won't fit

u mean barely fit in diameter? or the thickness...? in diameter right? cuz the 1000s come in that "slim" design which make the thickness no problem i think, correct me if im wrong... ive looked for the specs but couldnt figure it out...but somebody else said that the 700s and 1000s were the same size but im not sure...

in order for them to mount directly behind the grill craft i had to trim the lower lip of my grill and the mount i made has sliding adjustments both side to side and front to back.

a few wasted hours a dremel tool a 12 pack of beer and a trip to home depot is all it took :)

    nah you should be good.

homers grills are sweet looking man no doubt about that. i have never been into the satoshi look really but his flush mount thing he is doing now looks absolutely killer!

be sure and post up pics when you get them installed i'm curious about the elusive elements bar myself.

i made a very stout bracket that mounts across the bottom to hide it completely for like 10 dollars lol but, the elusive mount just looks bad ass to me thats something you don't need to hide if that makes sense.

to be honest no they suck lol.

they where freaking expensive as well. if i had it to do again i would have gotten light force all day long and left the yellow lenses on them.

which gives me more ideas like i need another way to spend my money

I just clicked on the link and it worked for me. If you go to the myhellalights site, and look at the 700 and BM1000 pages, you'll see a pic of the light. Below are more pics you can click on, in those pics are diagrams that show measurements....and according to the diagrams for both...they are the same size

imo the black magics are more about looks in that dept, they are impossible to beat.

but, for performance light force strikers 170's cost about the same and are probably 4 times the amount of light plus they are bullet proof and the beam pattern can be adjusted and they come with yellow filters which basically makes them uber useful instead of just a cool looking set of lights.

i do get a lot of compliments on them though lol no one notices the 600 dollars of leds right in front of them but, maybe thats a good thing.

Hans, if you were to do the HID retro on your 700's, would you still have room to mount them?

i don't see why not the ballast can be remotely mounted if need be.

besides the work to do the conversion thats the only difference and they can be stuck with good double sided tape almost any where.
