Hey so I am all over the fucking place went from engage LT on old truck to mid travel on new truck (the old one was replaced due to frame cab separation). Then with the new truck was thinking mid travel want LT again so I am thinking LT again but want to run volk 18 inch wheels (already purchased) you think I could run a 32 or 33 without damaging the kit.....I had very light 30s on my old truck

i don't care about no cv BOOT..i have AllPro CV BOOTS, they are special!..and they don't rub, touch or tear. the shafts are the toughest that I can get because they are made by Currie to AllPro's specifications. when i saw that you mentioned Porsche CV's i thought you were referring to modding the Porsche CV joints to make work with our taco's since i am always looking for a stronger CV joint, since apparently i'm a dumbass who can't drive because i have previously broken a outer CV joint. i can't afford or risk to break another one while on the trail...

thanks so kindly for pointing out that you were referring to a simple Porsche CV BOOT.. next time when im on the shitter with my smart phone i'll pay a little more attention when responding to a comment.

Well assuming your breaking the inner CV Joint, FJLED has done with his FJ. He had Mini-Stubs made that slide into the front diff. that way a 930 Joint would bolt-up to it. He then had a new Axle made an extended length that way he could find the right spot for it to work properly. Also gained a 0.5" of travel (kind of irrelevant) but still.

    See build page here:

    http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=972456

Also, apparently this guy has an extra set of the Mini-Stubs for the 930 Joints:

On a side note I think you fall under the first point that Jason said about breaking CV's as you have a Front Locker and do alot of rock-crawling from what I've seen and getting stuck in an odd spot definitely puts alot of strain on the CV Joint:cool:

also if your snapping shit up front, look into moser axles and the porche 930 cv upgrade. i had a old 92 pickup and when i still had 4wd in it, i went through moser and had them make me some 1 1/4" solid chromo shafts with the 930 cv... i ran detroits front and rear and never snapped shit. well worth the investment if you spend 90% of your offroad time on the trails.

I was worried that it might put to much weight on the LT lower control arms without a lot of extra gusseting.

Their forged volk rims (not stupid chrome mall crawler wheels) I just like them.....I like the koings too so i could return mine and get those instead......so I could use 16s but volk te37 (my favorite) don't come in smaller than 18s

Nobody said your a dumbass for breaking shafts. He said that "either have a front locker in a precarious position, or are complete morons". Notice the bold. Since you have a front locker and take it to precarious places, he never called you a moron. Slow down and chill out
