Really? They just lost 6 straight, 10th place. They have no other leader to rally around on that team. Malkin isn't getting the job done. They have a decent team w/o Crosby but they are not gonna win anything.

Still out of the playoffs running right now though and if Winnipeg beats the Sharks tomorrow and we lose another on Friday we are def. SOL.

Past few games have looked retarded. WHO CARES how many shots on goal you get if NONE go in. Looks like they are tossing little cream puffs at the net, playing catch in the back yard with your sister at best. They put the pressure on and are in desperation the last 90 seconds of the game...guess what. ITS TOO LATE, should have played that way from the first puck drop.

Malkin is trying to do too much on his own, not setting anything up, skating around like a lost kitten. Least when Staal was on the ice he could dominate and appeared to have the presence that he could score when he needed to. Malkin's trying to run the gauntlet every dame time...

We will turn it around though, every team has their low spot, this is ours. LETS GO PENS!!! Please....

Without Crosby, Pittsburg is still one of the better teams in the league. Yeah they are on a losing streak. Nearly all teams get them at one pont or another through an 82 game schedule. Look how Boston started off the year. Pittsburg has Malkin, Staal, Letang, Neal and an excellent goalie in Fleury, to list only the household names. Consider how well they were doing with these players healthy.
Perhaps some of the fans in Pittsburg are a bit spoiled having such a good team. You start to panic when you hit a bump in the road.

 

We're defiently spoiled to have the players we have and I think that's why everyone in Pitt goes crazy when they don't win. With this talent pool this team should still be good, but they just aren't playing well. Their last few games have been terrible to watch. Malkin has probaly the most talent in the league, but some nights he just doesnt try and is lazy. Martin isn't playing up to his expectations or contract, and Staal has been terrible on faceoffs this yr and he's out best guy for that other than Crosby, and now he's out. We know we have a small window with all these players so we demand more now.

Ray Shero GM of Pittsburgh Penguins gives an update on Crosby:

Penguins captain Sidney Crosby joined the team on its current road trip and is expected to begin light skating Friday. Crosby will be on the ice following the Penguins’ morning skate Friday at Florida.

Crosby, who has not been cleared to play according to general manager Ray Shero, is taking a step in the right direction. But Shero said the team is still beIng cautious with his condition and there is no timetable for his return.

“I’m happy he’s joining the team on the trip,” Shero said. “Sid is a hockey player and he wants to play hockey. He wanted to join our team because we’re in a tough stretch. He badly wants to play and be out there. But he’s not cleared to play. We want to be very careful. Once he’s cleared to play, he’ll be the most excited guy on the ice.”

Crosby missed 61 games after suffering a concussion in January 2011. He returned to the ice Nov. 21 and posted 12 points (2G-10A) in eight contests before suffering from concussion-like symptoms. Crosby has missed the Pens' past 14 games.

Crosby has been doing light exercises in the weight room and on the bike, but will hit the ice for the first time since having concussion-like symptoms following Pittsburgh’s Dec. 5 game against Boston.

“We’ve been through a lot with concussions,” Shero said. “I know this injury and what it takes to come back from it. Every player is different. We’re getting more educated throughout the league. It requires patience.”

Patient is what the Penguins will be until Crosby returns. But the person who most desperately wants Crosby to be back on the ice is Sidney himself.

“Sidney Crosby is a hockey player. He wants to be on the ice,” Shero said. “He’s frustrated. As captain you want to help your team in best of times, let alone a tough streak. He feels that responsibility. When he’s cleared to play he’ll play. We can’t wait to have him back.”
