Just go to Amazon.com and search on home security DVR. Or wireless camera.

    http://www.amazon.com/Swann-SWDVK-4...GJQ4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1326395278&sr=8-1

I had this on my camper. Allows you to view remotely, live. Also can set it up to alert you when there's motion. Many options.

There are simpler smaller ones you can get too, that are wireless. They can also be setup to alert you with photos, video, etc... Some will even FTP the photos to another site, so if they steal your security system, you still have em on "tape".

Many, many options these days for easy security.

If you have a MAC, you can buy a $5 app, install it on your Mac and use the built in Camera therein. Then, you can view it on your iPhone, as I'm doing right now, watching our dogs sleep.

Amazon also has a lot of reviews on the products by consumers.

Then put a big friggin sign out that says: Smile, your on camera!

Ok, more more cheap solution. Go get a nature camera from any sporting good store, like Outdoor world. You can then mount it to a tree and it will take photos when motion is detected.

Its on the second story in my bedroom and my room is always locked with the blinds down. Sure they can bust the door down, but I also bolted my tower to my desk so if they try and steal the computer, they have to either to take the desk, unscrew the bolts or take the parts in the computer :p

Definitely fix the gate and alert the Sheriff.

Letting the Pit roam is good, but sometimes thieves just shoot the dog. So be careful.

Maybe get some ADT or Brinks signs and put them in the yard. Not necessarily the whole system if you can't afford it. Just having a sign appear between their last recon and now might tell them you're onto them.

I will do this for sure

My buddy is already ready to camp outside my house with his SKS but I dont want him to get into crap over this. I would want to avoid all this.

Would not have thought of that, thanks.

My buddy was saying it seems like an inside job too. :(

Pits have a horrible rep here as well for the same reasons, but its scary knowing someone might come into my home and hurt my family so I'm willing to let my dog protect us as much as he can, do love the little guy alot though.

She didn't but I told her to do so if it happens again.

I work about 30 mins away so that isnt an option but a couple of my buddies have volunteered. I told her to look out for herself especially next time, and to not try to confront them if they do break into my house.

    She was terrified about it.

    Solid advise, thanks man.

I have not pissed anyone of for sure, I think they are just being very cautious and planning well to make a big score.

what do you have that they would want? They sure seem to think that there is something of value in your house if they are doing this or they have a grudge with you.

Do you show off a lot of nice things, brag about what you have etc?

Had anyone over at the house lately that would know you have a lot of nice stuff?

maybe a large empty tv box out by the curb?

    My house was buglarized twice in 2011, what I've learned is this;

    1. ADT or similar sticker does nothing. They'll find out once inside.

    2. I have a Pitbull too. I found her in the backyard still working on the peanut butter they gave her.

    3. Having an active, attentive neighbors is a plus.

4.The fact I'm a NRA member and own many weapons only complicates a break-in issue. In other words, these chicken-shits won't pull a home invasion while you're home.

I've since considered a home security camera system. Don't want a cheap one, so I'm saving my cash.

Good luck...fact is, if these douchebags want in....they'll get in.

Nope nothing like that, The only thing of value that I think someone would want to go after is are my bikes, I work on them in the driveway alot so easy to see, I sold one of them though and the other one is just a stunt bike so looks like a junker, they might be after the R6 and just dont know that I dont have it anymore.

Agreed. The person I know who is going thru something similar is dealing with repetitive calls (only one house visit tho) from the same guy for a while... Weird, I don't know what he wants.

be sure your insurance is up to date/increase amounts, install extra dead bolts, reinforce door frames, never be unarmed inside your house, know what COVER (cover stops bullets, walls/ couches do not) is available in your house. know what entry point they could come at you from. get a driveway alarm to alert you. ect

basically harden the exterior and interior of your house.

dont worry about your shit, thats what insurance is for. But be ready to shoot back if they come when your home and you are in danger.

I would notify the police and I'd talk to all of my neighbors and ask them to keep and eye out and call 911 if ANYTHING looks wrong. I would also get an alarm system if you can. You might leave a TV or radio on in the house or on a timer to come on at random times to make appear someone is home. We use timers for our lights when we go on vacation. I also have a good relationship will all of my neighbors so we look out for each other and ask questions for everyone coming and going that we don't know. Luckily Oregon has very good gun laws so all of my neighbors are armed. We have 2 retired guys in on our street that don't miss a thing. I help them with yard work or whatever they need and they keep an eye on my place and I keep an eye on theirs, we notify each other when we are going to be out of town so they know to watch a little closer. I pity anybody that attempts to break in around here.
