buy a Rovio. my buddy has one and he checks in on his house with it, you can control it from your smart phone or any computer. it's got a camera built in and it moves wherever you want it to. Also i'd get that gate fixed. I'd think if these guys came 3 times and talked to your neighbor they arn't too bright, the neighbor would be able to identify them, Likely amateurs

Any retired neighbors? Ask 'em to watch. My old neighbor was pushing 90 and didn't miss a thing in our neighborhood. Even some things inside my house she didn't need to see:eek: I agree about the video. An obvious question, but do you have an alarm? Newer systems can send real time video over the internet to any smart phone or computer.

Do all you can, lots of good suggestions here. Start on the cheaper things like the gate, letting your neighbors know what's up and to call police if they see anyone here besides you, do the reinforcement things, get a cheap cam setup while saving up for a better internet accesible one, maybe move your valuables to another site for storage until this gets "worked out", definitely let the dog roam & if possible get him a friend to help, alerting police to what you know so far, if your friend has time to stakeout your house for you just let him stay there randomly and shoot them in self defense from inside, add lighting, do random things schedulewise, maybe make you a saferoom inside, etc etc. Get more armed than you are now and don't post up here trying to trick people into believing you aren't armed already, someone might be stupid enough to believe it. One of the scopers could be a member here on a far fetched realm of possibility note. Take nothing for granted.

Video is only good for after the fact. Same thing can be said for insurance. Both of them are good to have.
There are DVR stand alone video surveilance systems. They are easier to hide and secure vs a computer. The video quality and storage capcities/video retention are proportional to your budget. Get one with infrared cameras for low light. Do not use cheap safes for protecting your system. A crowbar will easily open or pry the safe loose from the floor, wall, etc.
A monitored security system is good, unless they cut the phone line/ jam cell phone signals. Solid, security doors with deadbolts, key locking windows will slow them down.
The best you can do is increase the effort it takes to invade or steal from your house.
Place a sign on the door which states, "This property protected by Smith & Wesson, we don't call 911" Also, if you only have money for one home defense weapon, get a short barrel shotgun. Pistols are only useful for getting to your shotgun since they are much easier to carry.

Good luck, hope it turns out in your favor!

As Tiger said, it's extremely rare that a house would be watched/visited over such a long peroid of time/so many times, without a break-in.

Often times down here, burglars will approach a house, knock and as soon as they suspect no one is home, they will break-in.

There often pretty brazen, we've had guys who just kicked in the front door in broad daylight.

Something else is going on here. Is it possible that for some reason they could think you are a drug dealer or something, or suspect you have something extremely valuable?

Best thing to do is tell all of your neighbors, and encourage them to call the police whenever they see a vehicle/person that doesn't 'belong' in the neighborhood. Suspicious person/vehicle calls can get annoying, but they are better than burglary calls.

Thank you all very much for the input by the way, love this forum.

So looks for now I will just get the gate fixed and locked, let Yama roam the yard while im gone, get some signs indicating I have a security system and myabe even that note letting them know that I know. I will move my car to the front driveway and hopefully get an actual security system soon. A glock for future issues since I do not think it will be needed with this situation since these guys dont look like they want to be confronted. Unfortunatly I live in a rural country area and all of the houses in my neighboorhood are fenced off from each other so it makes it difficult to see whats going on next door. I will be talking with the neighboors though as well as the sheriff as soon as Im off work. Thanks again guys and gals. Appreciate it.
