Anyone know how to do the parking lights as turn signals mod if you have factory DTRL lights? I saw the mod on how to do this but it doesn't mention how to do it if you have factory DTRL. My wiring is like this:

driver's side inner light wires : solid yellow and white w/black

driver's side outer light wires : solid green and white w/black

passenger side inner light wires : solid light blue and white w/black

passenger side outer light wires : solid green and white w/black wires

I tried doing the above mentioned mod but used my factory color wires in place of the ones mentioned in the mod and all it does is blow the fuse.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

I probably can't help, but the DTRL circuit is a ground switch circuit <maybe> so when you attach wires from the signals to the DTRL circuit, it would create a dead short.

I am not a 100% expert on electrical so I couldn't tell you if you are right or wrong, lol. All I know is I tried it the above way and it blew the fuse. There must be a different way to work around it. Just waiting on someone who knows how to do this chimes in.

Would be intereted also. Have same wire colors as Sfcadams. Power is in the Green wires on the corner lights and power is in the biue or yellow wire depending which turn signal is activated.

I would say pull the plugs out and look at the wires. Green is probably more like to be the power, yellow is probably ground. Just splice in to all three and see what works. Trial and error. Good luck

Ok, got it figured out. If you have the daytime running lights from the factory, here is what you do.

on driver side, cut white w/black strip wire from outer lamp. tape off the wire portion that is remaining on the wire harness. Take the light socket portion of the white w/black stripe wire and wire it to the yellow wire of the driver side turn signal.

on passenger side, cut white w/black strip wire from outer lamp. tape off the wire portion that is remaining on the wire harness. Take the light socket portion of the white w/black stripe wire and wire it to the light blue wire of the passenger side turn signal.

    That's what worked for me....

At first I did the DTRL mod and alternate turn signal mod and it worked great. Next I got the factory DTRL kit and the alternating signals still worked on the parking lights. Had to disconnect DTRL's cause they were fading my chrome reflectors.
