    I've been watching this thread wondering why you would need more light on the dash. That is, until I picked up my 2012 last night. There is a huge black hole down there!

    I read about half of the 20 pages in this thread, and I still don't know if this fits a 2012. I'm sure I'm not the first to ask, but I'll ask again.

    It it fits, count me in for the first mod to be done!

    canoeski - I just installed the wired model in my 2012 tacoma. See the other FLYZEYE thread and you can see the pictures I posted. The Flyzeye fits and matches perfectly to the black dash panels of the 2012.

    Operational / Technical Specifications of the V2W:
    1. Primary power comes from the Tacoma's 12V lighting circuit via two wire taps.
    2. Power is controlled by turning the Tacoma's lighting ON/OFF.
    3. The unit will ONLY illuminate when the 3-position slide switch is moved to either the middle (primary ON) or right (secondary ON) positions.
    4. Light instensity of the Primary and Secondary LEDs is primarily adjusted by the Tacoma's dimmer. Fine-tuning the intensity is achieved by lightly touching the Touch-Sensitive Dimming Control (TSDC) circuit if the Tacoma's dimmer is somewhere between 100% and perhaps, 75%. Below that, the TSDC circuit is not as responsive due to the variable ground system TOYOTA uses.
    5. TSDC halo illumination intensity is affected by the Tacoma's dimmer circuit.
    6. When dismounted, the unit automatically switches to onboard batteries for remote lighting needs in the middle (primary ON) and right (secondary ON) positions.

    Great product, install was very easy! Love how it just matches ;)

    Quick question though, I'm not able to "fine tune" the brightness of the lights? it just stays on 1 brightness level....i can adjust the brightness if it is running off batteries tho.

    Fine tuning is certainly limited. It seems, as TOYOTA uses a variable ground, our TSDC circuit gets a bit finiky if the Tacoma dimmer is anywhere less than around 75% give or take. A simple test is to set the Tacoma dimmer to full bright and then try to adjust the TSDC. If it is rapid and uncontrollable, then you need a replacement unit. It is likely that a voltage regulator has failed. If it works relatively smoothly, then it is working properly - not ideally, simply properly as designed.

    We are looking into this performance issue in the background and if we resolve it, we will absolutely let everyone know. For now, it is what it is. We certainly hope that most of you are happy with the product and realize that we are only three people struggling to make this work. We are working feverishly to bring the best products to market for a reasonable price.

    As we stand behind our prooducts, you (and anyone else) who isn't completely satisfied, is entitled to a refund. We normally allow 30 days for the no questions asked satisfaction but in this case, we'll allow a longer grace period within reason.

    Please let me know what you find after testing as described.

    Tacoma dimmer full bright, tsdc dims nice n smooth....but going bright is instantaneous...or unsmooth

    Since the install, half my cluster doesn't turn on for most of the time. it comes on and off on and off at times.. I double checked the connection and everything seems to be tip top shape. No bad wires and what not.. not that i know of....
