OK, so yesterday I wandered out to McLean creek ... Some awesomely fun terrain out there. I took my daughter, she had a BLAST!

While there we ran into this young felllow in a 2wd Ranger with street tires....

Yes, he was stuck like crazy... what *WAS* that guy thinking? I'm surprised he got as far as he did, to be honest... lol.

We managed one mud-hole so deep the muddy water rolled up over the hood... wasn't expecting that for my first time, but we made it... truck was literally baptized on the trail, :D

... so today I wandered out to the Waiparous... I've never been there, so was interesting. Had been raining HARD in the area for about 16 hours and everyone was leaving... didn't feel comfortable going too deep in while alone, so only explored a little. Looks like a really fun area though, and is barely an hour from my home...

Anyway, having fun in the taco... great truck so far! (In case you're wondering, this is my first 4x4... I should have gotten one 20 years ago!)

We've ridden the ATV'S out at Maclean for years now. You should get some photogs looking west from up high in east Maclean and post them.......God's country for sure!!!

yeah, I had a good time. Never been to either place before, wasn't sure what to expect... :D

Both were pretty muddy... Spent much more time at McLeans (than I did at waiparous) trying a few different trails there. My daughter (she's 16 and an adrenaline junkie...) was my navigator...

"Go THAT WAY, Daddy!!" - so Dad looks that way and sees... ... but goes anyway...

Was very impressed at how the Taco did through the mudholes and the creek crossing... Was unimpressed at one point on the trail where I went through giant foot-and-a-half deep puddle after another, then the last one was suddenly coming up over my hood.

Took me a LONG time to get it all cleaned after that.

Then took my shiny clean and waxed beast the very next day into Waiparous... and got it filthy again.

Kinda looks better filthy, know what I mean? :D

Sorry for the lack of pics... I actually only intended on FINDING the areas, not off-roading in them... but... I couldn't resist...

I'll take the camera up next time.

I think I know the place your talking about... I went out there with a friend of mine. Awesome spot to go wheelin'! Didn't get to go as far back as I would have liked but I plan on going out for a longer ride if I can find someone with a rig that I can count on to help out if I get into trouble...lol. If your up for it we could hook up for a good run out there. I'm always up for it and I have tons of free time lately...let me know. And if that is the same mud hole your talking about, shit yeah...it was plenty deep! Hahaha!

It is at McLean. There is one mud hole that can be tricky to get through to get to that hill though. There are some good spots that a stock truck can get to ;).

If I have my bearings right, it's on the east side after you pass the second bridge. There are two big hills you can climb. That's on top of the first one. I haven't been up the second yet.
