bilstein 5100s and add a leafs

Hi i was planning on lifting my truck a little bit i was wondering if i can put bilstein 5100s on the front of my truck with original coils and i was also planning on purchasing the toytec add a leaf for the back any opinions?

Don't see why not.
You could set the 5100's at .85 and get the TSB leaf springs.(free, search on Suspension TSB)
You can add the AAL's later if you want.

 

is it worth going through the hassle of the tsb or should i just go with the aals?

 

Do .85 on bilsteins & get TSB, it's free & the dealer installs it.

Like everyone else has said, the oem coils will work with the 5100's. I recently installed the 5100's set at the middle setting (1.75") with stock coils. Also did the rear AAL.

 

You said lifting a "little bit" go with 1.75" and AAL.

 

.85 is a "little" as your opening post stated.
Don't know exactly what that setting yields with the stocks springs.
Maybe someone will chime in with actual lift results at .85 and 1.75 settings with stock springs.
The dimensions should be from center of hub to top of wheel well. That way tire diameter is out of play and dimensions can be compared.

Then safely jack your truck's body up to duplicate those results.
Take a look at it and see what you think.

Did it my self it was faster. Cost me $100 And the dealership did not touch my truck.

 

/\/\/\/\/\/\ This. I did the 1.5 Toytec and the 5100's at 1.75 and am very happy with it.

 

I have that setup and would get the eibach coils to go with it if I were you. Make that ride a little more comfortable, it's not bad without the coils but could be better. Aals are easy to install but if I was eligible for the tsb springs I'd go for those then maybe an aal later if you want to go higher.

 

when i install my aals should i get new rear shocks?

truck looks good man......so u did 2.5 up front what did u do in the back?

 

Says he just did the 5100s @ 2.5, left the rear unchanged so it is 3/4" lower.

I would do this ^^ but throw in an AAL.

 

You can do the 5100 @ 2.5 it rides sick and if you dont like the slight bro lean then u can add a leaf after. I just did mine you can check my profile.
