I want to supercharge my 2012 Taco but can't find any info as to whether the 2005-11 unit will bolt on without issue.
I realize the Computer reflash is not yet available but I would like to buy at least the main supercharger assembly and kit. while there are some good buys out there for the 2005-11 units.

it wont bolt straight on because there is some new emissions equipment on the 2012's that would get in the way. I dont think anyone has really aggressively tried to fit one on yet though.

It should be out in 2-4 weeks and this is coming from two confirmed sources at TRD...not CSR's. Currently going through C.A.R.B. approval process. The supercharger "Fit Kit" is the piece that is changing which includes the correct factory ecu reflash for the supercharger kit...and you can only flash the ecu once...no going back lol.

EDIT: No reason to create a new thread...all info in here thus far including your previous posts on this topic: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/183576-2012-tacoma-trd-supercharger.html

I knew about the flash as it was discussed on the other thread but I missed the part where it said that there was fitment issues I thought it meant that the only issue was the reflash.
Crap! this means we aren't going to get any bargains on the unit for a 2012.

Supercharger kit should be the same...its the fit kit that will be different ...alot of people include the reflash with the fit kit for w/e reason...two different pieces.

    Lots.
I've never understood why they can't reflash an already reflashed ECU? If they did it once, what makes it impossible to do it again?

ForeRunner is talking about the new 1GR engine with Dual VVT-i for his 4runner. The tacoma doesn't have this engine.

You might want to PM gadget (owner of URD) to see if they have adapted their MKII supercharger to work with the '12s yet.

    When I said newer 1GR I meant the Dual VVT-i 1GR that's in the FJC's and 4Runners.

maybe I'm reading wrong but reflash can only be done at dealership ...I installed mine and had to drive right down to dealer to get it done for $55... so technically reflash is not included
BTW I don't see how people think a reflash comes in a box...hah
