    So right now I'm running 16" 600 pound springs up front with my AP plate bumper and a winch. Coils are cranked about 2.5" to provide enough compression for that heavy front end.

    I'm collecting materials to build a tube bumper and relocate the winch to the rear of the truck (between frame spars).

    What do you all think of swapping to 18" 500 pound springs once I get that plate bumper off? Wouldn't crank the springs at all. Basically looking for the same or a little more ride height/bump travel and softer compression.

    500# might be a bit too soft for you chase. i'm waiting on UPS to drop off my 18" 550#... i'm dropping down from 16" 620# with no pre load on the coils

    Where did you find 550# pound springs Matt? That's what I originally wanted.

    To me it seems the longer the spring, the more dampening it can provide without a harsh, stiff ride. That sound right?
