I got my 1000w power inverter a little over a week ago and today was the first chance I had to start putting it in. Here is what I got done today.

    IMAG0146-1_806308bd7704398d949549992c8d745758f37e45.jpg
Found some 4ga wire from an amp install kit in the garage and decided to cut the center of an existing grommet out in the firewall and run the power wire through there.

    IMAG0148-Copy_427d1fa32acd6962a2d9352ed2188023f739e506.jpg
Ran the wire behind the kick panel and under the driver side wiring raceway.

I then ran the wire under the carpet to the existing slit where the wires for the seat come out.

I cut off the excess wire and have a couple feet left over for the ground wire. I chose to ground it to the rear driver side seat bolt closest to the center console.

I scratched as must paint off the bottom of the bolt as I could to get the best connection.

    IMAG0163-Copy_be0b33381b2b746a32d1329a47986c4dd980c697.jpg
I connected the ground wire and then put the bolt cover back on.

And this is where it sits for now.

I added a 100amp inline fuse at the firewall and everything is working excellent right now. Hopefully in the next week or two I will be relocating the outlets and power switch. I would like to put one outlet on the rear of the center console, and the other outlet and power switch under the dash near the front cup holders.

It was on sale at JC Whitney for $3.79. I posted a thread in the Deals/Coupons section when I found the deal and a few people got their order filled and the rest got refunded for their money.

The link is probably dead now, and if its not, it will take you to the same one for $99.

Unless I'm mistaken, the body ground wire from the battery to the body is only 8ga, and as a weak link in your circuit could cause problems with higher loads on the invertor. Best would be to run a 4 ga ground wire from the invertor right to the battery, second best would be to add a 4 ga body ground at the battery. Otherwise, looks good.

Good point. The only thing I have plugged into it so far has been a small shop vac to clean up my mess, and a laptop charger for around 20 mins. I will most likely look into changing the body ground to 4ga before I try to plug anything big up to it
