    Hey guys.
I have an 07 tacoma v6 4x4 automatic trd model. Recently I have been noticing an issue shifting into overdrive when there is a bit of load on it. I do have a 2.5" lift and 33" all terrains. My guess is that I need to re gear; any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Sean.

Guess I should add that what it does is kinds revs up before shifting then locks up. I have to let off the throttle a lot for it to shift without hesitation.

Yes I understand that but its when getting on the freeway that it happens most. When the converter tries to lock up, it revs as if slipping before locking completely.

check the transmission fluid, it sounds like its slipping.

edit: it has to be running when you check it.

All automatic transmissions have locking to converters. They only unlock when pressing on the break or bellow 25-40 mph, pending on vehicle and gearing.

And the tq lock should not allow it to rev up that much. It is slipping into od. Check the trans fluid. Is it cold? It has been bellow 0 here lately, and a few customers have complained of no 4th gear. Pretty sure the 3-4 shift solenoids where becoming stuck.
