Can't find the fuse for the parking lights. It's not labeled on any of the fuse boxes (under steering wheel on left or under hood). I want to do an add a fuse for my ccfl's and strip lights to the parking lights, but i cannot locate the fuse. Anyone???

so i'm almost the the reinstall part of my retrofit, but i was thinking: will jb weld melt in the oven when i heat up the headlight assembly to press the two halves back together? i used jb weld to seal and secure the projector to the reflector bowl and it's been curing since this morning. i was going to give it til tomorrow morning and then bake the two halves.

    will i mess anything up??

need some advice. Ive cracked open the headlights before, and when I did I cleaned the inside of the lense. It's had this residue or something ever since. Not a big deal as I've dealt with it for like 6 months now.. lol. But figured since Im takin them apart again, ill try and clean them again. What should I use? I used windex last time and it left streaks and residue. Maybe distilled water? Just a microfiber cloth?

a new microfiber rag and meguiares ultimate quik wax works xtremely well.

this is never a good idea to touch the inside lens but, if you must i have used this before with very good results but, you will need to shake the hell out of the quik wax before each use.

2 microfiber towels new and clean shake them free of any dust or lint, spray one of them liberally wipe on the inside of the lens to remove the film and or finger prints. then take the dry rag and ball it up so you don't go dragging any left over sealant on the lens and gently wipe it clear.

i should also mention never to use any kind of pressure on the inside of the lens as it will leave micro scratches all over just be gentle and check them over repeatedly to make sure they are perfect before calling it a success.

    good luck

Thank man. I'm thinking the microfiber will work. Hopefully. And hopefully I haven't already scratched the Insides. I can't tell if they are on the outside or Inside. We will find out I guess.

you want to watch what chems touch the lens the inside is not the same as the outside.

there is some type of protective coating on the outer lens to protect it from scratching as easily. the inner lens will scratch in a heart beat leaving micro scratches that are highly visible on a sunny day.

mount the rear of the housing vehicle with the reflector bowl and projector then make your adjustments keeping in mind where the adjustment screws are in and out is also important you don't want the reflector bowl tweaked to inside cause you mounted the projector a little sideways.

or you can measure and level on a bench.

Retrofit completed! Here are the pics! Should I tint my fog lights so the front end looks better?

Very nice! Have you posted any other pics? I would really like to see some more close ups on how you mounted them and just different angles. I like the look of the retros in the new front end...seems like the projector fills the bowl better than the 05+ headlights

As far as tinting fogs....NO!! Just a personal peeve of mine...why on earth would you tint a lense in which you want light to shine through?!!

I will get some more pics. I don't get much snow or fog here so the light output doesn't bother me much. It really just for looks!

If I go ahead and seal the outside with silicone, will i be able to bake them again with no problems. I have a little fogging issue so I want to try and silicone the edge first, but if that doesn't work i will have to re-bake them and start over. Will the silicone be okay to put in the oven?

I add the silicone after I bake them. If you have to take apart the headlight again it will be really hard. Take that from experience.

    WOW, Another possible G/B....hmmmm :spy:.

I know to put in the silicone after, but my lights are fogging a little, and I am trying to correct with the silicone first. I may need to take them apart again, I just wanted to know how the silicone does in the oven. Does it not soften up like the butyl?

it does soften up. wen i craked my open this second time, i used a razor balde to slice the silicone first before i baled them. then peel off what you can, bake, and peel apart.
