Those are sweet, and the shackle would make a good nose ring ;)

    multi use bracelet :D

i was thinking about selling them as a side hobby, the ones with the shackle sell for like 30-40 bucks, which is rediculous. the ones with the plastic buckle are a little cheaper but the buckle will break under pressure, so its no good for "survival" imo

thats a safety buckle, and thats not the intended use in my mind, the shackle is meant to be used you need it for anything. if you like the plastic buckle that breaks, then by all means get that one, but i wont make them with it.

    :woot: my purple one!

I dont recommend the multi colored for "survival" either, since there is a splice in the middle of the cord that comprimises the strength.

They work just find for survival, you just don't have as long of a piece that is without a splice. How much paracord does it take for you to make one bracelet?

thats what im talking about, the length is cut in half because of the splice, the 8" tan one i started with 16' but cut like 2' off the end when i was done, and the purple 7.5" started with 14', again cut about 2' off the end

so how ever many inches you want the bracelet double the length in feet and then minus like 1.5' so you still have some to work with, waste less cord.

That sounds right. When i did the dog collars i started with like 40' of cord because they needed to be ~19" when finished.

You can unravel them and use them for what ever you would need a rope for. It's 550 lb test rope.

yep, shelter, catching food, you can pull out the 7 strings inside, use them for floss, sutures, snare, may things. the shackle i used are rated at 530lb, but dont break till 1200 or 1500 lb i think. they arent supposed to rust either

You could make a belt and have about 70-80 ft of paracord.
