There is plenty to do with the 2.7L. Check My truck out, I'm also adding a Doug Thorley Ceramic coated Header later this month. :D

I am really curious as to what kind of a difference you get out of those headers. I really wanted to tinker with the 2.7L engine, but now I am looking at dropping a 2.8L Turbo Diesel engine into my truck. So, I am saving up all my pennies for that. :)

According to the Dyno test on their web site www.dougthorleyheaders.com I should be getting about 20 hp from it. Plus added with the other stuff I have on it should make a difference. I have added around 17- 20hp already from the CAI and Cat-Back Exhaust. It is a blast to drive it around!

Do you have a sound clip of your exhaust?

I Do not, I could get one though in the next couple days. It souds sweet. I was a little worried when getting it that it would sound like a rice burner. As soon as I reved it up it was all smiles.:D It has a lot of guts, It sounds very similar to the V6, Just louder.

I`ll wait for the turbo with after cooler.
The P51 D had a two stage super charger. The second stage kicked in at about 30,000 ft.
That surprised some ME 109`s and FW 190`s.
    They are still parisitic.

I`m just saying that the turbo is better than the super. Perhaps there is some problem that excludes the turbo. In that case a super would be nice in the Rockies.
I bought a 2006 Taco factory shop manual for $9.95 from Amazon.
I`ll know more after I read it.

There are a lot around, if you want to buy one.
They are less pilot intensive than an AT6.
Why do I need to aim?

I would not mind having one.
    What is the track record?

A WI farm, Sonora, Sedona, Lake Havesue and Canyon
    Vehicle:
Impluse Red 2006 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-road 4x4
A Roo Bar comes to mind. I also protected the tail lamps. It is a farm and you back over stuff; Willows mostly. All of the factory options are on it. The dealership owner bought it for himself. He put a topper on it and pricey tyres. The Power Wagon does the heavy lifting.
Ok, you give me some first hand reports from those that have used and abused it and I`ll listen further.
I know SC`s. I just do not know the TRD.
    It is too new.

The P 51 D Rolls- Packard has a two stage super charger. As a few found out to their distress, the second stage kicks in at about 30,000 ft.
You do not want to fly a ME-109 or a FW-190 against them at that altitude.
COL. Bud Anderson has a good story about this.
    Chuck Yeager could comment.

    TRD

Thank you for your interest in TRD. For more low end torque, we recommend the TRD supercharger for the Toyota 4.0L engine, Toyota/TRD part numbers PTR29-35070, main assembly, and PTR29-35072, Tacoma fit kit. Horsepower gain is 304 SAE hp @ 5400 rpm and Torque gain is 334 SAE ft/lbs @ 3600 rpm. In addition to the supercharger, we recommend the TRD cat-back exhaust system, Toyota/TRD part number PT910-89061. Horsepower gain from the exhaust is 8 to 10 hp. For your reference, the TRD cold air intake or any other intake system isn't compatible with the TRD supercharger. For pricing an availability, contact your local dealer.

I can get 87,91 and 93 octane in an no lead imitation of real gas now. What happens to my TRD SC 1GR if I cannot? It is a 10: 1 engine to start with.
I can get 100LL from the airport. There goes the cats.
    Does any of this matter?

I just got it installed. i saw it online for about $4k, but with lift kit / install, I decided to just get it through the dealership and have them install it. I also want to keep my extended warranty. They charged me 6 hours of labor, but had the vehicle for 2 days. Not a problem though - small price to pay for a well tuned supercharged truck.

I am going to have it done in May by the dealer.
Unless I decide otherwise, I am going with the TRD headers and exhuast and overhead gun racks.
The dealer wants to do this. But he has never done one before.
So, we don`t know what it will cost.

I am going to do the same and have the S/C installed later this summer. I have seen other people say their dealer install was about 11 hours and $500. My dealer also said it was $500 to install.

Maybe you could use this as your gouge to start off with.

I have heard between 3 hrs. and 11 hrs.
If you have done this before, you can do it faster.
I can field strip a M1911 in a heart beat. But I`ve done it thousands of times.
