Hello- the clutch on my 07 2.7 4x4 has been slipping and now started to vibrate intermitantly under load- I found a website talking about TSB -0066-11 for this problem but I dont see it listed on the TSB thread any info appreciated. Any other 5 speed clutch troubles on here?

only problem with mine is when it gets below zero, and it takes a little bit to warm up, it almost sticks for a second when fully depressed, then gets back to normal after it warms up. No slipping at all.

I had my clutch replaced for free after only 10k miles. From my understanding toyota used two different clutches one made in USA and one made in Japan. apparently the ones that are failing are the usa made clutches. I got this info from a toyota tech so I have not verified this anywhere else

Do you have a copy of the tsb- I've only been able to find reference to it not an actual copy.

You should be fine at 35K......don't wait though...after you pass 36K they could try to get out of it.

I'm trying not to wait but the dealer ship is 150 miles away and I'm stuck in school during the week. If they can't cover it I'm going to do it myself at school we got all the tools and a lift. I've got a question I took the truck in because my transmission was making a chirp sound and they said it was nothing could this be the problem. My teacher thinks it's the throw out bearing. Any input would be nice

Seems like the cold definatley has an effect on this. We are in a 3 wk cold snap right now. I talked to the dealer this morning and they told me it would be covered under the 5yr/60k power train warranty. I'm off the road system so can't bring it to the dealer having a local shop do it. We'll see how it pans out. J

I know how you feel it has been well under 0 degrees but I got to Seward lastnight and it's been warmer and it isn't doing it as bad. I'm glad to see I have a chance at the warranty hopefully the op will have good luck

I paid the dues to the TIS and printed off the TSB-0066-11 It says it's covered within the 3yr/36k period which sucks because mine is an 07 with 37k on it so I'm sure they are gonna deny but I'm going to give it a shot. What do you you think they will say?

I am having this done to my truck, but i fear they have ordered the bad parts again given the parts the told me don't match other listsings. Can someone please post the clutch and pressure plate part numbers that are listed in this tsb?

Edit I found the tsb and dealer is going to use the correct parts listed.

There have been about a thousand revisions. Proper parts, as of now, are pressure plate 31210-35291 (aisin ctx-107), disk 31250-60500 (updated aisin dtx-136).

Note that some of the older revisions included an aisin ctx-106. The ctx-107 is a "heavy duty" compatible pressure plate and matches up to the first gen V6 (a more powerful engine). the ctx-106 matches up to the first gen 2.7 (a weaker engine).

Great, so from the parts on my repair form I'm getting the older V6 plate and flywheel. If that breaks/wears easily then this engine is stronger then we think!
