i have seen a few threads on here of people putting the LED lights in their hood scoops and i kinda like the idea but still am not 100% on the idea. Does anyone have any reasons not to do it, im thinking of putting the white LED not the blue or red because of cops. I also am not sure where i can get the LED's or how to install them properly is there a write up on how to or can someone give me some tips.

I know quite a few people have had great results with this site:
www.oznium.com, just at a glance I spotted this and think it would work well. I've been wanting to do this mod forever!! so if you do it, keep us posted!

Just the other day I saw a WRX with this done and it looked kinda cool, but I found it strange considering the Suby guys have functional hood scoops. You'd think it would block air flow or something...

on the website you suggested you can get all different types of LED strips from ribbon to single bulb. They may have used a smaller strip so it doesnt restrict any airflow. Im not for sure tho

on the cop note, sometimes I'll drive with my amber roof rack lights on and people will just pull over haha. and this is in broad daylight where you can clearly tell I'm no emergency vehicle... but I've driven past cops with them on and never been pulled over or flashed ;)

i think the guy used single bulbs not a strip. but i’m not sure. also i think some one was thinking about a rigid SR. like a 6” or something SR is single row.

Next to the concept of a non-functional hood scoop, a light in a non-functional hood scoop is about the dumbest idea ever.

i agree with first part. but i like the light mod. in a way it makes it functional. if i had a sport hood i would do it in a hart beat. ( only reason i kinda want a sport hood. lol

X2.... Putting lights in a non-functional hood scoop makes it functional.

Screw the cheapy oznium LEDs!!! I'm goin with this setup haha. I already have the rigids up top to spot for deer, but you can't have too many bright ass lights for deer where I live.

lol I love all the hood scoop haters. well, I think you and your silly lockers are... are... ok you got me, I'd love to have lockers. :(

Can someone please help me understand the infatuation of putting colored LED's or lights on your rig if you're not supposed to have them?

There's a term we call those people from the LE and FF world.

Waiting for LEO to chime in on this thread but I would think this would be illegal in some states if not all. Thought's?

Yes, most of the time it is illegal. A lot of states are courtesy light states (for volunteer FF's). They require permits and such. If you're not in public safety, there's no reason to have them.

It's just not a good idea.
