48" or 60" hi-lift..?

    I meant to say get the normal 60" and the jackmate...whoops.

    I grew up hanging out in Berlin cause I lived a town away. Small world it is. Now I'm a town away from Sicklerville :spy:



    Oh and my previous question can't be answered cause I can't even lift my rear tires off the ground with my 48" jack and my truck has stock springs with crap 5100's and no added droop.

    Don't make the same mistake I did - go 60". The 60" is also safer because it adds leverage (control) to the jack when you hand is placed up higher.

    I was just wondering about which one to get as well so subed. 60 seems like the best bet. It could be overkill but I guess its better to have the 60 and not need it then to not have it and need it.

    i say get the size that you can conveniently fit into your storage solution..

    if you can fit a 60" then by all means do it..reason i say that is i have been on the trail plenty of times and the 48" often comes up short.

    not only can you use the jack as a jack lol..but you can use the hi-lift as a make shift winch/come a long that works very well. sometimes that feature is needed for vehicle recoveries where a winch isn't feasible to use (thats where that hook on the end comes in handy since it was designed just for that purpose). and having the longest possible jack just for that feature is priceless based on my experiences..my group of buddies that i always wheel with have done this technique a few times. you can also use the hi-lift to de-bead a tire while on the trail to perform a tire repair if necessary.

    As long as you can fit it go with a 60". Once you lift the truck, add hi clearance bumpers and get in an off camber situation you'll be glad you have the extra height. I only had a 48" on my blue truck and used every bit of it quite a few times.

    Good example of me maxing out the 48" I only had 2 holes left at the top on this one.

    Doesn't always help, such as the pic above. I didn't need to pick up the rear axle, I needed to lift the truck up off that rock that was wedged between the diff, rear bumper, and bottom of the bed.

    60" it is then. Wouldn't it be cheaper to get the extreme than the regular plus the jack mate?

    bilstein set at 1.75, Racho 5000 rear with 4 leaf kit, floor mats, high lift jack, pull hook in hitch, bed rail corner braces, severe duty brake pads and devil horns on the grill....
    I have been using a 48" jack for the last 25 years...my old one lives in the under bed storage box of the M37, with a 3/4" breaker bar and a 1.5" socket...there is a brand new one 48" leaning up against the shop wall. I need to lock mine since my truck sits at my ungated work lot for weeks at a time. I don't mind pulling the lock before going off road.

    It will be a few bucks more. My only comment is that the Jackmate does more then the "special" end on the extreme.
